In a heated exchange on X (formerly Twitter), sparked by a July 9 post from Mayor Bass, conservatives brought receipts — and they were damning. The numbers revealed that *illegal immigrants racked up over \$121 million in medical costs* in Texas hospitals in **just one month** — with **\$25 million of that covered by Medicaid.**

Let that sink in: **illegal aliens are draining U.S. public healthcare systems**, and liberal politicians are still trying to convince the public they’re being “denied care.”

It all started when Bass claimed that undocumented immigrants were avoiding life-saving medical treatment out of fear of ICE, saying no-shows in L.A. hospitals had doubled. “This assault on our city must end,” she wrote — ignoring the true source of the burden: illegal immigration itself.

That’s when White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller fired back, pointing to the ballooning cost of subsidized healthcare for illegals. “A primary driver of healthcare costs in America is the free or subsidized healthcare provided to illegal aliens and their families,” Miller wrote.

Conservative commentator Gunther Eagleman added bluntly, “Illegal aliens should get ZERO benefits from the government.” But the left wasn’t done gaslighting.

Enter liberal commentator Brian Tyler Cohen, who smugly responded, “Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for Medicaid or Medicare.” But that statement didn’t age well. An X user known as “Tired of being politically incorrect” posted **official documentation from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC)**, proving that illegal aliens **visited Texas hospitals over 31,000 times in November 2024 alone**, costing the state **\$121.8 million** — and over **\$25 million of that came straight from Medicaid funds.**

The data came from a report issued under **Gov. Greg Abbott’s Executive Order 46**, which mandates that hospitals report healthcare costs associated with illegal immigrants to track the damage done by Biden’s open-border policies. That order, signed in August 2024, forces transparency — something the left wants to avoid at all costs.

According to HHSC staffer Jennifer Ruffcorn, the numbers don’t lie. “Hospitals throughout the state reported the data… to assess costs to the Texas public hospital system imposed by the federal government’s open-border policies,” she wrote.
