The mask is slipping — and conservatives in Congress are done playing nice.
Following explosive revelations in a newly declassified annex of the Durham report, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) is calling for none other than leftist mega-donor George Soros to testify before Congress about his Open Society Foundations’ direct involvement in the Russia Collusion Hoax that haunted President Trump’s first term.
According to the annex, emails tied to Leonard Benardo, the head of the Soros-funded Open Society Foundation’s Eurasia division, suggest the organization helped spread disinformation that undermined President Trump — all while conveniently distracting the public from Hillary Clinton’s own email scandal. These communications appear to confirm what many on the right have long suspected: the Russia Hoax wasn’t just a smear — it was a coordinated, globalist operation to sabotage a duly elected president.
Durham’s team described their findings this way: “The Office’s best assessment is that the… emails that purport to be from Benardo were ultimately a composite of several emails that were obtained through Russian intelligence hacking of the U.S.-based think tanks, including the Open Society Foundations, the Carnegie Endowment, and others.”
In short: George Soros’ network wasn’t just meddling in Eastern Europe — it was undermining American democracy from within.
Now, Rep. Burchett wants answers. In a letter sent August 1st to House Oversight Chairman James Comer, Burchett called on the committee to haul Soros and Benardo in for a public hearing — and to use subpoena power if they refuse.
“Thank you for your continued leadership,” Burchett began, “I am reaching out regarding new information showing evidence of a conspiracy to sabotage President Donald Trump’s 2016 election and presidency.”
Burchett referenced bombshell intel declassified by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard — another Trump ally — showing how Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the national security apparatus weaponized intelligence to kneecap Trump before he even took office. These latest emails add fuel to the fire, pointing directly at the Soros empire.
“Included in this evidence is a concerning email allegedly from Leonard Benardo… plotting to discredit the incoming Trump Administration,” Burchett wrote.
That’s not “just politics.” That’s election interference at the highest levels.
Burchett’s letter continues, “Considering the Open Society Foundations’ continued influence on U.S. elections, I respectfully request you invite Mr. Soros and Mr. Benardo to testify in a public hearing before the Committee.”
And if they dodge the invitation? Burchett is clear: it’s time to wield the subpoena.
“Americans deserve answers into the subversion of our institutions by malicious actors,” he concluded.
George Soros has long funneled millions into radical causes — from open borders to soft-on-crime prosecutors. Now, evidence suggests his empire also played a part in one of the most damaging political witch hunts in U.S. history. It’s time for Congress to get him under oath, demand transparency, and expose how far the deep state and its elite backers were willing to go to stop Donald Trump.
This isn’t just about the past. It’s about making sure the people who tried to hijack our republic are held accountable — and never allowed to do it again.
