Laughter is the greatest cure for all ills. That is why it’s so sad when we hear about the death of any of these brilliant comedians. Gilbert Gottfried was one of them. On April 12, 2022, Gilbert Gottfried died.

Gilbert Jeremy Gottfried was an American stand-up comedian and actor. His high-pitched, shrill voice, thick New York accent, and gloomy sense of humor earned him a reputation as a prankster.

According to Fox News, just a few hours before his death, he was in the middle of recording an episode of his SiriusXM program “Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast” with a guest named Brenda Vaccaro.

In a tweet from the account of Gottfried’s family, they announced his death, writing:

“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness.”

They also shared the video of his last joke: “Last video of Gilbert’s last recording of ‘Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast.’ Doing his James Mason impression with guest Brenda Vaccaro. A few hours later he would be rushed to the hospital.”

In the short movie, Gottfried mimicked British actor James Mason’s famous voice by repeatedly saying “I need a job.”

Following the round of applause that was given to him by the crew, Vaccaro said, “That’s brilliant,” and in a few hours, he passed away at the age of 67 as a result of chronic ventricular tachycardia induced by myotonic dystrophy type II. According to publicist Glenn Schwartz, Gottfried died only a few hours later that day at the age of 67 owing to persistent ventricular tachycardia caused by myotonic dystrophy type II.

After Gottfried’s death, the actors from the Broadway version of “Aladdin” paid homage to him by playing Iago, the speaking parrot he supplied the voice for in Disney’s animated feature Aladdin.

Don Darryl Rivera, who plays Iago in the musical, stated: “Tonight, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate the life of a comedy legend… A funny man with an indelible voice. The man who breathed life into Iago for the animated film, Mr. Gilbert Gottfried. I, along with five other actors worldwide, have the distinct privilege to bring Iago to life on stage and I think one of the main reasons this character is who he is, is because of what Gilbert brought to the animated film: his comedy and that voice. ”

According to People, comedian Jeff Ross delivered a eulogy at Gottfried’s funeral. For many years, I’ve known Jeff. Jeff has an outstanding sense of humor and is one of my favorite comedians. Over the years, Jeffrey has stolen “12,000 little bottles of shampoo” from hotels. He went on to praise his friend’s long career in show business.

He stated, “Fifty years in show business, 50 years! He went on stage as a teenager and he never stopped. This man has been making people laugh for half a century. What a mitzvah. What a mission in life. What a purpose to have in this world,” he said.

For more than 50 years, Gilbert Gottfried has performed his unique brand of unfiltered stand-up comedy to audiences all over the world. At the age of 15, he made his debut on the stages of New York City.

He gained a following as “the comedian’s comedian” in the years that followed, owing to his ability to go off on political correctness during his live shows and deliver material with no boundaries.

In the last video of Gilbert’s final performance of “Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast,” he performs his James Mason imitation with guest Brenda Vaccaro. He would be rushed to the hospital a few hours later.
