The Trump-era FBI is making it clear: voter fraud will no longer be tolerated. In the wake of high-profile arrests in Pennsylvania, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed to Breitbart News that anyone attempting to undermine the integrity of America’s elections will face serious consequences.

On September 5, the Department of Justice announced the arrests of two individuals in Pennsylvania involved in separate voter fraud schemes targeting the 2020 and 2024 elections. Both elections were pivotal in the swing state, highlighting just how critical protecting the vote truly is.

According to the DOJ, “United States Attorney David Metcalf announced that two defendants have been charged separately with election fraud offenses, one in connection with the 2020 presidential election, and the other in connection with the 2024 presidential election.”

The first case involves 31-year-old Matthew Laiss of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, who allegedly voted in both Florida and Pennsylvania during the 2020 election cycle. He now faces charges for voting more than once in a federal election and for voter fraud.

Similarly, 39-year-old Miya Pack of Philadelphia faces identical charges after allegedly voting in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. DOJ documents reveal that Pack cast a ballot in Teaneck, New Jersey, during early voting in October 2024, and then submitted a second ballot in Philadelphia on Election Day, November 5, 2024, including a vote for the office of President of the United States.

“This is about the integrity of our democracy,” Patel told Breitbart. “Voter fraud is a serious crime, and those who attempt to undermine our elections will be held accountable. One citizen, one vote — the integrity of our elections depends on it, and violators will be brought to justice.”

Both Laiss and Pack now face severe penalties under federal law. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and fines ranging from \$10,000 to \$250,000. The DOJ stressed that the charges in these Pennsylvania cases are similar, underscoring a pattern of unlawful double-voting that threatens the foundation of American democracy.

Patel, who has become a staunch enforcer of election integrity, has also targeted other forms of fraud. He recently lauded FBI investigators for exposing a massive \$250 million scam in Minnesota, calling the scheme—designed to steal from vulnerable children—“as shameless as it gets.” Patel emphasized that those exploiting the public for personal gain, whether through voter fraud or financial scams, will not escape justice.

With these arrests and Patel’s hardline message, the Trump-era FBI is sending a warning nationwide: cheating in our elections carries serious consequences, and the full force of federal law will be brought to bear. America’s democracy depends on fair elections, and under Patel’s watch, lawbreakers will be held accountable.
