In a shameless display of political opportunism, Senator Elizabeth Warren has landed herself in hot water after promoting a so-called “charitable” wildfire relief effort—only for Americans to discover the donations were being funneled through ActBlue, the Democrat fundraising machine notorious for its shady tactics.
On January 11, 2025, as wildfires devastated communities across Los Angeles, Warren took to X (formerly Twitter) to solicit donations. “100% of your donation will go directly to these organizations,” she claimed, linking to a donation page supposedly benefiting the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

But there was one major problem: that page was hosted by ActBlue, a Democratic super PAC that takes nearly 4% off the top of every donation. Despite her virtue-signaling rhetoric, the money wasn’t going “100%” to wildfire victims—it was being siphoned through a political fundraising pipeline best known for bankrolling Democrat campaigns.
Critics wasted no time sounding the alarm. Conservative users on X lit up the comments section, calling Warren out for exploiting a natural disaster to line her party’s pockets.
One furious user wrote, “This [unpleasant woman] is soliciting donations off the backs of those suffering in the LA fires. These donations go directly to ActBlue, the Democratic dark money site. Do not donate to any politician. Find a reputable site if you must.”
Another chimed in, “ActBlue is a Democrat money laundering scam. Using it to ‘help’ fire victims is diabolical. They’ll harvest your data and use it to push more far-left propaganda.”
And the hits kept coming. “You are sending people to ActBlue – a Democrat SuperPAC – you shameless clown,” one post read. Others pointed out the double standard, asking where this level of Democrat urgency was when conservative states like North Carolina faced disaster. “Where was that energy for NC? People are still living in tents and freezing. You only show up when blue states are involved.”
Chester Tam, a former Trump campaign official, slammed Warren’s stunt in no uncertain terms: “‘Secured by ActBlue’? Donating through the Warren for Senate site is the last thing you should do if you want to support wildfire relief. How much of that money do you think will end up padding Warren’s campaign coffers?”

How much of that money do you think will end up benefiting warren's campaign?

This isn’t the first time ActBlue has faced scrutiny. The Democrat-run fundraising network has long been criticized for poor transparency, questionable data collection, and outright fraud. And now, they’re being used as a middleman for wildfire relief?
It’s the same tired playbook: Democrats exploit a tragedy, wrap it in emotional appeal, and quietly route donations through a partisan megafund. All while claiming to care about the “little guy.”
In the end, Elizabeth Warren’s tweet didn’t just expose her hypocrisy—it reminded Americans exactly why trust in the political class is at an all-time low. While hard-working families lose their homes, Democrats like Warren are busy finding ways to profit off their pain.
If you really want to help wildfire victims, do what Warren didn’t tell you to do: Donate directly to the organizations on the ground—not through a Democrat cash cow.
