The Trump Justice Department just delivered another major win for American citizens — and another blow to California’s rogue governor, Gavin Newsom. In a move that conservatives have long demanded, the DOJ filed a lawsuit against Newsom over a state law that hands in-state tuition benefits to illegal immigrants while forcing out-of-state U.S. citizens to pay significantly higher rates.

Yes — in California, an American from Nevada pays more for college than someone who broke into the country.

This lawsuit marks the third DOJ smackdown of Newsom in just one week, following legal actions over California’s racially biased gerrymandering and a bizarre statewide mandate that forced ICE agents to wear masks while arresting criminal aliens. The message from Washington is unmistakable: Newsom’s days of treating federal law like a suggestion are over.

Announcing the lawsuit, the DOJ didn’t mince words:
“California is illegally discriminating against American students and families by offering exclusive tuition benefits for non-citizens. We will continue bringing litigation against California until the state ceases its flagrant disregard for federal law.”

According to federal rules, states cannot offer residency-based benefits to illegal immigrants unless those same benefits are extended to every U.S. citizen. California simply ignored that — because in Newsom’s California, the laws don’t apply to illegal aliens, only to taxpayers.

A DOJ official went even further, blasting the governor for deliberately undermining the rule of law:
“From racial gerrymandering, to undermining law enforcement, to discriminating against American students, Newsom has flagrantly disregarded federal law in his quest to ruin California.”

As expected, Newsom’s team responded with typical California arrogance — dismissing all three lawsuits as “meritless” and “politically motivated,” as though enforcing federal law were some sort of partisan vendetta instead of a constitutional requirement.

His spokesperson sneered:
“Good luck, Trump. We’ll see you in court.”

But conservatives were quick to fire back. Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi slammed Newsom for pretending to be the victim while he openly violates federal statutes:
“California is DISCRIMINATING against American students by offering tuition benefits for non-citizens. We will see them in court.”

Social media erupted with praise for the DOJ finally cracking down on a state that has spent years thumbing its nose at federal authority. One viral post captured the outrage perfectly:
“The federal government finally moved against one of Sacramento’s most indefensible policies: forcing American taxpayers to subsidize college for illegal aliens while charging most U.S. citizens full price.”

Other Americans demanded even harsher measures, asking why Newsom isn’t being investigated further for obstructing federal immigration law.

Yet even with the DOJ closing in, California bureaucrats are doubling down.
Dr. Daisy Gonzales of the CA Student Aid Commission brazenly reassured illegal immigrants:
“California’s financial aid programs remain fully accessible to you.”

In other words: American taxpayers, keep the checks coming — California will keep rewarding illegal immigration.

But with the DOJ striking hard and striking often, Newsom may soon discover that even California isn’t above the law.
