Though Disney executives condemned Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s so-called Don’t Say Gay Bill, many conservative individuals decided to boycott the entertainment company that owns Fox. Despite being adored by millions of Americans, some people are enraged with Disney CEO Bob Chapek for promising to use all of Disney’s resources to overturn DeSantis’ anti-LGBTQ legislation in order for the company to be “a stronger ally in the fight for equal rights” for persons of all genders and orientations.
Since Disney employees staged a walk-out after the company failed to comment on DeSantis’s anti-gay bill, Chapek was compelled to make a statement. AlthoughDisney hoped to satisfy their employees and the millions of customers who were angry that the company stayed mum when presented with the Don’t Say Gay bill, many conservative white families will not tolerate Disney taking sides against DeSantis and the Republican Party.
Some families are concerned that Disney is attempting “to indoctrinate the children of America into becoming the woke activists of tomorrow.”
In addition to Disney’s political statement against Desantis and the Republicans, they have also made other changes in recent years according to public opinion. This includes putting a racism warning on their old content as well as including a same-sex kiss in the new Buzz Lightyear movie. The theme parks are also changing their greeting from “boys and girls” to the gender-neutral greeting of “dreamers of all ages.”
Trent Talbot, a father of two from Texas, spoke to Fox News about how he believes Disney is deteriorating because it’s abandoned its conservative values. He attributes this change to the so-called “wokeness” movement in America.
“Disney has surrendered to the woke mob and is using its platform to indoctrinate the children of America into becoming the woke activists of tomorrow,” he stated. “Kids need entertainment that is a refuge from this crazy culture, where they can be entertained with just great stories and fun characters. And parents should have confidence that their children are seeing and hearing stories that are good and true.”
Tensions are high between the father and his family, as Disney is failing his children. Talbot also remarked that his firm BRAVE Books would give alternative choices for parents who are enraged with Disney, just like him.
“There need to be more companies that step up and create alternative entertainment options for families,” Talbot stated.
The Ohio mother and grandmother, Patti Garibay, is another individual enraged with Disney. She told Fox News that she wants everyone to “void your household of all things Disney.”
She continued, “Walt Disney most often cited his most important lesson as that of ‘goodwill always triumphs over evil.’ Today’s Disney promotes a full spectrum of lifestyles that rarely align with the Biblical values of good and evil, which God calls us to.”
