Despite a daycare worker named Christina Marie Curtis being charged with sexual misconduct, the Kids Discovery Learning Center in Valparaiso is still losing children.
The Florida cops became concerned one day after four kids were wounded in the same manner at the daycare center. They quickly discovered that only one person was to blame for this devastating abuse. Curtis, according to reports, broke the legs of four toddlers in a single day at age 25.
Curtis, the daycare center’s owner and boss, is accused of neglecting to protect these four youngsters from having their hands bound by child abusers like himself since he was in command on that day.
Curtis of Fort Walton Beach has been arrested and charged with child neglect for what he did on May 21, 2019.
Curtis showed no concern for these children, who were 13 and 21 months old, according to police records. According to the Panama City News Herald, the youngsters appeared to be doing well that morning but later began having difficulties standing or walking. Medical staff ruled out other causes of injury after determining that the kids had fractures.
Terika Graham, the mother of one of the four children, told Curtis to keep her youngster inside on the same day because of his rash. However, when she picked him up, she was startled to discover “dirt all in his hair.” She claims that she wasn’t given an explanation for three days after that event.
According to Curtis’ mother, he probably allowed the youngster out even though she ordered her to keep him indoors that day.
She also said that her son has a hairline fracture and is already recovering. And she went on to say that his injuries were not as bad as the others. Graham said, “His balance is still a little funny, but I believe that will get better soon.”
Curtis is seen in surveillance footage walking one 18-month-old child while holding his hands above his head. Curtis then ‘rapidly jerked him into the air,’ according to the arrest report, and when she picked him up, her feet and legs were in the air, and she dropped him feet first into a wagon.
Then the other youngsters were loaded in the wagon and taken outside. When the identical boy awoke from his nap inside the wagon, he was having difficulties putting weight on his legs.
Stated on the arrest report stated: “The defendant denied knowing how the injuries occurred and believed they could have happened either at home or in the playground. She has observed several children fall out of playground cars or other items.”
Curtis was granted a $4,000 bond and is not permitted to interact with kids. She will also be unable to work at any kid care centers or schools. She is still waiting for a hearing after being charged with four counts of child neglect that resulted in significant bodily harm.
Daycare centers are supposed to give the best attention and guidance to kids like these. Kids Discovery Learning Center, on the other hand, experienced the opposite outcome when it came to these toddlers. As a result, if parents have any concerns about sending their children to the same daycare center as this kind of kid abuse history, they have no reason to be concerned.
