A group of people walking down a city street saw an office lying on the ground. When they saw that he was beside his horse, they knew what was taking place in front of them. One of the police horses in Houston had been hit by a vehicle. The officer who was on the horse was taken to a local hospital.
Another officer in the area saw what had happened and came to lay with the horse. He was on the ground with the fallen service animal, staying with him until the time came when he would have to be put to sleep. When the horse was spooked, it tossed the officer who was riding her. She then ran into the street and was hit.
The broken leg of the horse resulted in her demise. Ronald Curry showed his support and his dedication for the animals that work with the city and his fellow officers by staying with the horse. He comforted her by holding her head and rubbing her back.
He covered the horse after she took her final breaths once she was euthanized on the city sidewalk.
The horse had been serving the city for 4 years and enjoyed the officers she worked with.
