Bill Cosby, standing at the ripe age of 85 years old, recently revealed his intentions to take the stage again in 2023 during an interview on a radio show. His spokesperson shared that the iconic comedian wishes to embark on a tour in either spring or summer of next year – unleashing laughter nationwide once more!

“Yes, because there’s so much fun to be had in this storytelling that I do,” Cosby said. “Years ago, maybe 10 years ago, I found it was better to say it after I write it.”

In the midst of numerous ongoing lawsuits against Cosby, five female victims filed a suit in New York back in November 2020. They have accused him of sexually assaulting them or abusing them between the 1960s and 1990s. The Adult Survivors Act enables survivors to take their attackers to court even after the statute of limitations has expired during a one-year window that opened up last November 2020, thereby providing justice for long overdue cases.

“It was well known that Bill Cosby would regularly take young women into his dressing room, and when you read the complaint, you’ll see there were instances where staff saw this happening and even encouraged the plaintiff to submit,” Jordan Rutsky, the lawyer representing all five of these women, stated. “This was not a hidden secret that Bill Cosby was doing these things.”

Cosby’s team has dismissed the legal action as “frivolous” and portrayed the women only as “a parade of accusers” pursuing financial gain. “As we have always stated, and now America can see, this isn’t about justice for victims of alleged sexual assault, it’s ALL ABOUT MONEY,” the representative stated. “We believe that the courts, as well as the court of public opinion, will follow the rules of law and relieve Mr. Cosby of these alleged accusations. Mr. Cosby continues to vehemently deny all allegations waged against him and looks forward to defending himself in court.”

Apart from the lawsuit, at least 60 women have come forward and accused Bill Cosby of assault, drugging, or rape. As a result of his actions in 2004 with Andrea Constand, Bill Cosby was sentenced to three to ten years in state prison in 2018. After serving two years he was released in 2021 only for him to be held accountable again that same year; this time facing liability for the 1975 sexual assault incident involving a 16-year-old girl at The Playboy Mansion.

Bill Cosby’s intentions to return to public performances appear misguided, given the numerous accusations and convictions of sexual assault that have been brought against him. Despite his insistence on innocence, many members of the general public are adamant that Cosby should be held accountable for prior actions – making it clear why reclaiming his status as a beloved celebrity is seen as inappropriate by so many. It will take more than empty claims of innocence in order for Cosby to restore any semblance of faith or respect from those who still question whether he should ever perform again.

It is unconscionable for him to attempt to monetize his past misdeeds, and it’s uncertain why he believes the public would want to finance this venture.
