The nation’s Major League Baseball (MLB) refused to express support for new Georgia voting rules that target Black voters. Rather than having the MLB All-Star game in Atlanta as planned, the league opted to move the event out of Georgia and find a replacement site. Conservatives, including Donald Trump and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, condemned the MLB’s decision to relocate its All-Star Game from Georgia and urged people to boycott the league similar to what they did with the NFL several years ago.

To get his supporters interested in elections, Donald Trump urged them to “boycott baseball,” the American sport. Because the league was unwilling to be complicit in Georgia’s new anti-voting law, Trump called for a boycott of baseball, according to The New York Times. The decision was made by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, Jr. on Friday following Governor Kemp’s signing of a controversial ant-voting measure last week.

The MLB was also targeted by Mr. Trump, who urged his legion of supporters to change their television channel whenever they view a baseball game.

“Baseball is already losing tremendous numbers of fans, and now they leave Atlanta with their All-Star Game because they are afraid of the Radical Left Democrats who do not want voter I.D., which is desperately needed, to have anything to do with our elections,” Trump stated. “Boycott baseball and all of the woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections. Are you listening Coke, Delta, and all!”

The MLB is not the only major business to protest Georgia’s ant-voting legislation. Other well-known companies in the state, including Coca-Cola and other major firms such as Porsche, have spoken out against the contentious Georgia law that seeks to make it more difficult for Black citizens to vote. Georgia has long been a Blue state due to former President Donald Trump, but now officials in Georgia are attempting to return it to a Red one with their new anti-voting legislation.

During a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday night, Governor Kemp also spoke with Tucker Carlson of Fox News about how the MLB has succumbed to “cancel culture” like many other entertainment industry giants.

“This is unbelievable. I mean, really unfortunate today that Major League Baseball has folded up and caved to the cancel culture and to a bunch of liberal lies, quite honestly,” Kemp stated. “What is even more sad is that the President of the United States Joe Biden, and people like Stacey Abrams, labeling the election integrity act Jim Crow. This is what happens.”

Kemp continued, “Now you have a lot of small business owners, a lot of great baseball fans, including myself, getting deprived of having the All-Star Game in Atlanta because of the cancel culture. I think it’s a message to all of us, all across this country, that are home tonight. They are coming after you next. You know, they’re going to come after your ballgame. They are going to boycott your business.”
