The so-called “untouchables” of Washington are starting to look a lot more vulnerable. Former FBI Director James Comey—the man who spearheaded the Trump-Russia hoax and brazenly misled the American people—is finally facing the justice he worked so hard to avoid.
On Thursday, September 25, a federal grand jury indicted Comey on two felony counts: making false statements to Congress and obstruction of a congressional proceeding. The charges stem from his 2020 testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, where Comey allegedly lied about the FBI’s involvement in the fabricated “collusion” investigation that plagued President Trump’s first term.
For years, millions of Americans watched in disgust as Comey and his allies inside the Deep State weaponized the FBI against a duly elected president. The Russia Hoax, built on lies and funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign, consumed Washington, crippled Trump’s early agenda, and eroded trust in the very institutions meant to protect the Republic. Now, the man at the center of that web of deceit is finally being called to account.
President Trump wasted no time in responding. In a celebratory post, he declared:
“JUSTICE IN AMERICA! One of the worst human beings this Country has ever been exposed to is James Comey, the former Corrupt Head of the FBI. Today he was indicted by a Grand Jury on two felony counts for various illegal and unlawful acts. He has been so bad for our Country, for so long, and is now at the beginning of being held responsible for his crimes against our Nation. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
The next morning, Trump doubled down, hammering Comey as the “Dirty Cop” who destroyed lives and poisoned trust in government. “Whether you like Corrupt James Comey or not, and I can’t imagine too many people liking him, HE LIED!” Trump wrote. “There is no way he can explain his way out of it… he knew exactly what he was saying, and that it was a very serious and far-reaching lie for which a very big price must be paid!”
Comey, for his part, attempted to cast himself as a martyr. In a video statement dripping with theatrics, the former FBI director claimed he was being persecuted for “standing up to Trump.” Looking visibly shaken, he warned viewers about “tyranny” and urged them to vote in November as if their lives depended on it.
“We will not live on our knees,” Comey declared. “Fear is the tool of a tyrant… my heart is broken for the Department of Justice, but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system, and I’m innocent, so let’s have a trial and keep the faith.”
But for many Americans, Comey’s act falls flat. This isn’t about bravery, resistance, or lofty ideals. It’s about accountability. The man who weaponized federal law enforcement to take down a president is finally being forced to answer for his actions.
After years of watching the powerful skate free, Americans are seeing the tables begin to turn. And for James Comey, the reckoning has just begun.
