In a heartbreaking post on Instagram, Scott Alexander’s wife announced his passing, after he had suffered from a stroke. The 52-year old was an alum of America’s Got Talent and is remembered as an incredible performer whose passion for the stage will never be forgotten.
On Monday, Jenny Alexander shared the heartbreaking news with her followers that her husband had passed away while he was working on a cruise ship.
‘I lost my husband yesterday. My kids lost their father. He suffered a stroke while working on a cruise ship in St Kitts and did not make it home to us. We are shattered. Please hold us in your prayers,’ she wrote on Instagram.
In a bid to showcase his sorcery prowess, Scott showcased on season six of the reality series before his eventual elimination in the quarterfinals.
Scott’s wife, Jenny, joined him on the talent show as his magical assistant. Together they resided in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with their three children.
On the show, Alexander astounded audiences and judges alike with a variety of magical performances that included an extraordinary levitation act.
‘That was really done well!’ Judge Howie Mandell was filled with awe and admiration after the levitation act.
‘Carried it off well, a bit of pizazz,’ Piers Morgan said.
‘I love the twist you’ve put on it, it’s really different,’ before all judges presented a unanimous decision, Sharon Osbourne expressed her approval through permitting the contestant to move forward.
In addition to appearing on America’s Got Talent, Alexander additionally showcased his talent as a competitor in season two of Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
Alexander left behind a loving family of five; his wife Jenny, and their three children who were not present on the cruise ship when tragedy struck.
Once Jenny confirmed his passing, fellow entertainers quickly offered their condolences on Twitter.
‘A brilliant and creative magician left us today. Scott Alexander was fab, and he gifted us with great performances and awesome material which will take his name forward. A real loss. Scott was one of the really good ones. #RIPScottAlexander,’ wrote on Twitter daredevil Jonathan Goodwin.
Magician Paul Armstrong wrote: ‘The world of magic is a poorer place today. Shocked and saddened at the sudden passing of Scott Alexander. My thoughts are with his family.’
Jenny felt a wave of love from her friends, who quickly expressed their support in the comments section of her Instagram post.
‘Keeping you and your family in my prayers. Stay Strong! He knows he was loved. I remember seeing him on American Got Talent, so sad to hear that this happened,’ one person wrote.
‘I’m sitting here in shock staring at my computer screen. Jenny, my heart is heavy thinking of you and your kids. I will be praying for you all for strength. God Bless you, your kids and may your husband always be your guardian angel!!!!’ another person said.
