Hollywood legend Dick Van Dyke was reportedly hurt after his Lexus veered off the road and crashed in Malibu.
On Wednesday morning, in wet weather conditions, the 97-year-old actor’s automobile slid and crashed into a gate as reported by TMZ.
The altercation left him with a bloody nose, lacerations in his mouth, and the potential to have suffered a concussion.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered the prominent Hollywood actor in his Lexus LS 500, according to TMZ.
Paramedics provided him with professional medical attention at the scene.
Instead of being transported to the hospital, Van Dyke was collected by a companion and returned home.
Law enforcement officials are reportedly asking the beloved “Mary Poppins” actor, to retake his driver’s test based on submitted documents to the DMV.
According to officers, neither drugs nor alcohol was responsible for the accident, as reported by the outlet.
Van Dyke’s latest encounter with a car crash occurred nearly 10 years after he was saved from his burning Jaguar in Los Angeles.
Unbeknownst to the actor, his car had begun blazing on the highway and he was extracted from it.
“It just started making a noise, and I thought I had a flat at first, then it started to smoke, then it burned to a crisp,” he said at the time.
Van Dyke emerged unscathed from the accident and “there was a fireman, a nurse and a cop just happened to be passing by. Somebody’s looking after me.”
