Cha Sa-soon’s story has been all over the news for the past fifteen years – she was determined to get her driver’s license no matter what, despite failing her test nine hundred and fifty-nine times! After investing thousands of dollars in driving lessons and practice tests, this unstoppable South Korean woman finally succeeded in April 2005. She can now drive wherever she wants with legal permission to do so; an incredible accomplishment after such a long journey filled with perseverance and hard work.

Cha Sa-soon was determined to obtain her driver’s license no matter the cost. Despite being rejected time and again, she refused to give up and spent three long years with a driving instructor daily; taking the driving test every weekday in hopes of having legal authorization from the government of her home country.

After reducing her efforts to twice a week, she finally achieved success after her eight hundred and sixtieth try on the written exam. Despite all this hard work, she still had yet to take the wheel with an instructor before passing the paper test. Nevertheless, with perseverance came great rewards; it only took one hundred attempts for her to pass the street-level test and earn herself that coveted driving license!

After 960 attempts and $13,000 spent, Cha Sa-soon finally passed her driver’s test – but there is no telling how secure she’ll be behind the wheel. From written exams to practical tests, she has been proving herself for years in order to receive her license. Now that she did it all, we can only wait and see if this tenacious woman will safely navigate the roads of South Korea.

After years of striving for success in her vegetable-selling business, Cha Sa-soon has finally attained the driver’s license she so desperately needed. Her driving instructors can now breathe a sigh of relief: no longer do they have to endure their toughest student! Throughout their long careers, she was without a doubt one of the most difficult cases they had ever encountered.

The instructors expressed relief that Cha Sa-soon’s dreams had been achieved, describing it as “a huge burden off [their] backs,”

An instructor from Jeonbuk Driving School conveyed that “When she finally got her license, we all went out cheering and hugged her, giving her flowers. It felt like a huge burden falling off our backs. We hadn’t had the guts to tell her to quit because she kept showing up.”

Over the years, Cha Sa-soon earned her place in the spotlight through perseverance. After failing her driving test multiple times and refusing to surrender, she became a renowned figure across the globe and a celebrity in South Korea.
