The sheriff of Lake County, Ohio was in shock after he and his deputies were falsely accused of dressing their horses up as Ku Klux Klan members. However, the sheriff has denied claims that his horses were dressed as KKK because he says the animals were actually supposed to be ghosts. Woke critics across Ohio have misinterpreted his statements.

Though people who live nearby are incensed at the Sherrif and his deputies for dressing their horses as if they were in the Ku Klux Klan, the sheriff has justification for their actions. The animals were wrapped in white sheets that had eyeholes cut out, reminiscent of the Ku Klux Klan’s robes which still instill fear in Black and Jewish Americans today.

In addition to the spooky horse decorations, the Mounted Unit horses were also covered in orange pumpkin lights that were more inviting for families. A lot of people found the costumed horses cheerful, but some Ohio residents were alarmed that the sheriff’s department was making the ponies look like KKK members. The costumes they had on looked very similar to the white hooded robes that are worn by members of the terrorist organization.

“That was poor execution for a ghost,” one Lake County resident said. “You go back and look at pictures of the Ku Klux Klan, it’s like the exact replica of what the horses looked like.”

Some locals were unhappy with the costumed horses, but Sheriff Frank Leonbruno defended his deputies and the horses. He claimed that the white sheet costumes were very popular among the Lake County residents who saw them dressed up for Halloween.

Other residents were dismayed by the horses dressed in KKK robes.

Katelynn Gurbach, said, “Is there nobody on staff that is like, ‘this is not a good idea?’ A sheriff’s office should be out there protecting people, and if I saw that on my street, I would be terrified.”

A local Ohio resident who lives in the county where the fires are occurring wrote, “I was shocked and I’m embarrassed.”

The public is displeased with the sheriff’s decision to allow a display of horses that look too similar to those ridden by members of the KKK. The KKK has been known to terrorize and for murdering people of color and Jews throughout America.

Sheriff Leonbruno stated that the costumed horses ridden by local police officers believed they were “what a great idea to have big ghosts going down the street.”

The sheriff continued, “As the horses went down the street they were lit up for Halloween. To tell you the truth the community loved it, kids said they were great ghost horses.”

Even though the sheriff knew the Klan’s robes were controversial, he thought the kids should have fun seeing them on horses during Halloween.
