Recent news has shown that Richmond Homeschool is not a place to send young girls. The homeschooling organization recently came under fire for their decision to send Clare, 17, home from the prom because a variety of grown men could not stop looking at her in her dress.

She was so frustrated by the encounter that she posted a statement about her ordeal to HomeSchoolersAnonymous.com.

Clare stated that she was so excited by her once in a lifetime opportunity to attend prom, buying the perfect dress with her own money. She picked a dress that was appropriate even though it was shiny and silver, double checking that the dress went past her fingertip lengths when she wore it. She got dressed up and headed to her big night out, where the enjoyable evening quickly took a turn for the worse.

She spotted “dads on the balcony over the dance floor, ogling” and chatting with each other. They made both her and her friends really uncomfortable but they kept trying to enjoy themselves until finally one of the men told an assistant that Clare was dancing too “provocatively.”

The dad stated that he thought that Clare would make the boys there have “impure thoughts,” and Clare was subsequently sent home. “Enough with all the slut shaming,” Clare wrote.

“It’s not my job to think about a perverted 40-something dad who is having impure thoughts about me because I have a sparkly dress on. And if you think that I might be responsible, you are probably just as twisted.”
