Most parents are decent, loving people who try to do their very best for their children, even if the family unit is split through divorce, separation, distance or other situations.

Today, our autumn story takes us to the beautiful state of Utah in the city of Ogden, namely, to a cement walkway near a building on the campus of the Ogden–Weber Applied Technology College.

Surveillance photos depict a gentleman leaving a little girl alone there at night with a blanket in 30-degree temperatures. We find out that he is her father, that she is only 5 and was visiting with him for the weekend.

He allegedly instructed her to, “Shut up and lay down and go to sleep,” before he left her there overnight. This story is incredibly sad, but has a good ending.

The child tried sleeping on the frigid cement in her pajamas with her thin blanket wrapped around her. No one appeared to see the girl. She was not injured, but her devastated mother, Gena, says her young daughter was “scared, cold, had no shoes.”

Ogden Police tell Fox-News the child was found by security personnel around 7:30 a.m. The father remains a suspect, and Ogden Police are investigating this bizarre and cruel incident with Utah’s Department of Child and Family Services.

Gena claims her daughter was traumatized by the abandonment, but happy to be home with her mom. Ogden Police have stated that there have been reports about the father using drugs.
