In yet another example of the unhinged rhetoric pouring out of the radical left, a Democrat elected official in upstate New York has resigned in disgrace after openly calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump. Christine Paige, a former member of the Potsdam Town Board, faced mounting public outrage after a vile Facebook post compared killing President Trump to “putting down a rabid dog.”

Let that sink in.

While the nation was still reeling from multiple failed assassination attempts on President Trump during the 2024 election cycle, Paige chose to fan the flames of political violence rather than condemn it. Her Facebook post, which surfaced thanks to the watchdog efforts of *Libs of TikTok*, revealed a deep-seated hatred unbecoming of any elected official—let alone someone entrusted to serve the public.

“I have seen no credible proof that he’s a human being,” Paige wrote on Facebook. “To me, it would be akin to putting down a rabid dog.”

Disgusting.

The backlash was swift and fierce. Across social media and local forums, Americans—especially Trump supporters—demanded her resignation. Many questioned how someone this deranged could have ever held office to begin with. Despite the public outrage, Paige arrogantly dismissed the reaction to her assassination fantasy as mere “foolishness.” No apology. No remorse. Just more radical rhetoric.

Thankfully, sanity prevailed. Under overwhelming pressure from her constituents and the broader public, Paige finally caved and resigned. As *Libs of TikTok* reported: “BREAKING UPDATE: Democrat NY Town Board Member Christine Paige has FINALLY RESIGNED after months of pressure following her sickening comments after Trump was almost assassinated. Bye Bye 👋.”

Even the Democratic leadership in her own town couldn’t defend her behavior. Potsdam Supervisor Marty Miller strongly condemned her remarks, noting the damage she had inflicted on the town’s reputation and civic unity. “The consequences have been severe to the integrity of this Board and the Community of Potsdam as a whole,” he said. “This selfish act… has been a nightmare for me and the rest of the Board.”

Unfortunately, Miller also pointed out that current law prevented the Board from ousting her themselves—highlighting yet another area where reform is badly needed. Officials who incite political violence should be removed, not merely shamed into resigning months later.

Paige’s resignation comes amid growing concerns about the left’s increasingly dangerous rhetoric. As President Trump continues to lead in national polls and the MAGA movement gains strength heading into November, the left’s desperation is boiling over into threats and, in some cases, violence. From Antifa riots to pro-Hamas marches to elected Democrats calling for murder—this is the face of the modern left.

The silver lining? Americans are waking up. The silent majority is done being silent. As one commenter put it, “We stand united against political violence and for a stronger America under Trump’s leadership.”

Christine Paige may be gone from office, but her words won’t be forgotten. They serve as a chilling reminder of just how far the radical left is willing to go to silence their opposition. But they won’t silence us. Not now. Not ever.
