President Donald Trump is once again taking aim at one of the most disastrous policies in modern American history — Obamacare — arguing that it’s time to end the failed system once and for all and return healthcare power to the American people, not the bloated insurance companies that bankroll the Democratic Party.
In a fiery post on Truth Social, Trump called out the corruption and inefficiency at the heart of the Affordable Care Act, saying that the hundreds of billions in federal subsidies funneled to “money-sucking insurance companies” should instead go directly to ordinary Americans, empowering them to buy better coverage at a fraction of the cost.
“I am recommending to Senate Republicans that the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars currently being sent to money sucking Insurance Companies in order to save the bad Healthcare provided by ObamaCare, BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN PURCHASE THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE, and have money left over,” Trump wrote.
The president’s proposal comes as the Biden-era Obamacare subsidies, enacted during the pandemic as a “temporary relief measure,” are finally set to expire. Without them, Americans are facing skyrocketing premiums and a broken system that Democrats are once again scrambling to patch with taxpayer dollars.
Democrats, of course, are demanding that the subsidies be renewed — effectively doubling down on a system that even its defenders admit is failing. Republicans have resisted, pointing out that the subsidies were never meant to be permanent and have only masked the true cost of government-run healthcare.
Trump, however, is going further — calling not just for reform, but for a full-scale demolition of Obamacare and a return of power to the people.
“In other words, take from the BIG, BAD Insurance Companies, give it to the people, and terminate, per Dollar spent, the worst Healthcare anywhere in the World, ObamaCare,” he wrote. “Unrelated, we must still terminate the Filibuster!”
In a follow-up post, Trump didn’t mince words about who benefits from the current setup: “NO MORE MONEY, HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, TO THE DEMOCRAT SUPPORTED INSURANCE COMPANIES FOR REALLY BAD OBAMACARE.”
Instead, Trump argued that the system must be flipped on its head: “THE MONEY MUST NOW GO DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE, TAKING THE ‘FAT CAT’ INSURANCE COMPANIES OUT OF THE CORRUPT SYSTEM OF HEALTHCARE.”
He concluded with the kind of plain-spoken logic that has made him popular with millions of working Americans: “THE PEOPLE CAN BUY THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER POLICY, FOR MUCH LESS MONEY, SAVING, FOR THEMSELVES, AN ABSOLUTE FORTUNE!!!”
Conservatives across social media rallied behind Trump’s message. Popular commentator Clandestine summed it up: “Trump wants to delete Obamacare. This is yet another issue we could address if we terminate the filibuster and go nuclear on the Dems. The days of negotiating are over. It’s time to undo the damage that was done to this nation. Save the republic. Apologize for nothing.”
For years, Obamacare has been a boon for bureaucrats and insurance giants while leaving ordinary families with higher costs and fewer choices. Now, Trump is putting Washington on notice: end the gravy train, empower the people, and restore true healthcare freedom.
