President Trump delivered yet another media masterclass on Thursday, this time putting CNN’s Kaitlan Collins in her place after she attempted to derail an Oval Office press conference with one of her usual interruptions.
The moment came when Trump was thoughtfully answering a question about Russian President Vladimir Putin and the ongoing Ukraine conflict. But before he could finish, Collins, known for her aggressive and often slanted questioning, blurted out: *“Do you trust President Putin?”*
Without missing a beat, Trump shut her down with trademark precision.
*”I know [Biden is] a friend of yours,”* he fired back, his tone dripping with sarcasm. Then he delivered the knockout punch: *“He’s a friend of CNN. That’s why nobody watches CNN anymore. Because they have no credibility.”*
Laughter rippled through the room as journalists and staffers couldn’t help but enjoy yet another verbal takedown of the flailing network. Collins, who has made a career out of attempting to trip up Trump with loaded questions, was left speechless.

Collins’ network, CNN, has been hemorrhaging viewers for years, especially after spending Trump’s entire first term pushing hoaxes—from the Russia collusion narrative to the now-discredited Hunter Biden laptop cover-up. No wonder Trump’s quip about CNN’s credibility hit so hard.
The exchange is just the latest in Collins’ long history of failed “gotcha” attempts. Last month, she tried to corner Trump over his comments linking DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) policies to the Washington, D.C., plane crash, asking:
*”Does it comfort [the victims’] family to hear you blaming DEI policies?”*
Trump didn’t take the bait. Instead, he shot back:
*”I think that’s not a very smart question. I’m surprised, coming from you.”*
Ouch.

The moment showcased, yet again, why Trump remains untouchable when it comes to handling the press. While Biden’s administration hides from tough questions and lets his press secretary spin weak talking points, Trump is out in the open—taking all questions, shutting down dishonest narratives, and exposing the media’s blatant bias.
As for CNN, it might be time for some self-reflection. The network has lost the trust of the American people, and with journalists like Collins trying (and failing) to score cheap points instead of reporting real news, it’s easy to see why.
One thing is certain: when it comes to taking on the fake news media, Trump isn’t just playing defense—he’s playing to win.
