A visibly frustrated President Donald Trump delivered a fiery message from the White House this week, blasting Senate Republicans for their hesitation to end the filibuster and push through his America First agenda, warning that Democrats will “abolish it instantly” once they return to power.

The president’s remarks came as the federal government shutdown dragged past the one-month mark — a stalemate fueled by Democrats’ refusal to pass a budget unless it included billions in taxpayer funding for illegal immigrants’ healthcare and other left-wing wish-list items.

Standing at the podium and holding up a sheet of paper outlining key legislative goals, Trump told reporters, “Here’s what we’d pass if we terminated the filibuster: Voter ID, no mail-in voting, no cash bail, no men in women’s sports, no welfare for illegals — you could go on and on.”

The president’s message was clear: Republicans have the votes to change the rules, but lack the courage to use them.

Under current Senate procedure, most legislation requires 60 votes to pass, giving Democrats an easy way to block the GOP’s agenda even while in the minority. Ending the filibuster — known in Washington as invoking the “nuclear option” — would allow Trump and the Republican majority to pass bills with a simple 51-vote majority.

Trump has been hammering the point for days on Truth Social, urging Senate Republicans to “get tough” and stop allowing Democrats to cripple the nation’s progress.

“TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, NOT JUST FOR THE SHUTDOWN, BUT FOR EVERYTHING ELSE!” Trump wrote in a November 2 post. “We will get all of our common-sense policies approved (VOTER ID, ANYONE?) and make America great again! Remember, the Democrats will do it immediately, as soon as they get the chance. Our doing it will not give them the chance. Republicans, be tough and smart! The Dems are crazed lunatics!”

In a follow-up post two days later, Trump outlined the transformational change Republicans could achieve if they stopped playing by outdated rules. “Pass voter reform, voter ID, no mail-in ballots. Save our Supreme Court from packing, no two-state addition, etc. TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER!” he wrote.

Trump also warned that refusing to act could have devastating political consequences: “The Democrats are far more likely to win the midterms — and the next presidential election — if we don’t do the termination of the filibuster,” he said. “It will be impossible for Republicans to get common-sense policies done with these crazed Democrats blocking everything. FOR THREE YEARS, NOTHING WILL BE PASSED, AND REPUBLICANS WILL BE BLAMED.”

The president went on to list the sweeping victories the GOP could deliver if the filibuster were eliminated — including strong borders, energy independence, major tax cuts, fair elections, and protection of the Second Amendment.

Trump’s frustration reflects that of millions of conservative voters who have watched their party squander political power time and again out of fear of media backlash or Senate “tradition.” As Trump put it bluntly in his latest post, “It’s time for Republican Senators to stop playing games with the Radical Left Democrats and TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, IMMEDIATELY OPEN OUR COUNTRY, AND PASS GREAT COMMON-SENSE LEGISLATION!”

The message couldn’t be clearer: If Republicans want to save America, it’s time to stop talking — and start fighting.
