President Donald J. Trump lit up Truth Social once again—this time taking a bold stand against woke corporate virtue-signaling in professional sports. On July 20, the 45th president called on the Washington Commanders—sarcastically dubbed the “Whatevers”—to drop the bland, politically correct rebrand and return to their legendary name: the Washington Redskins.

“The Washington ‘Whatevers’ should IMMEDIATELY change their name back to the Washington Redskins football team,” Trump wrote, unleashing a wave of support from conservatives and longtime fans who’ve had enough of the Left’s crusade to erase American history and tradition. “There is a big clamoring for this,” he added.

But the president didn’t stop there. Trump, who has long criticized cancel culture and identity politics, pointed out that *Native Americans themselves*—whom he called “our great Indian people”—have spoken out in favor of keeping names like Redskins and Indians. “Their heritage and prestige is systematically being taken away from them,” he said, slamming the Left’s phony moral outrage and suggesting that this manufactured controversy was never truly about respect—it was about control.

President Trump extended his rebuke to Major League Baseball as well, calling on the Cleveland Guardians to ditch their generic rebrand and restore the team’s original identity: the Cleveland Indians. “Why would you take the name ‘Indians’ off the Cleveland Indians?” Trump asked, echoing what millions of Americans have wondered as woke politics creep into every corner of public life—from schools to sports to sitcoms.

The push to erase historical team names like the Redskins and Indians wasn’t driven by popular demand. It was driven by a small but loud group of activists, backed by spineless corporations and media outlets more interested in virtue-signaling than honoring tradition. Meanwhile, the communities and heritage they claimed to defend were left out of the conversation entirely.

Trump emphasized that “times are different now than they were three or four years ago,” signaling that Americans are waking up. “We are a Country of passion and common sense,” he wrote. “OWNERS, GET IT DONE!!!”

This is not Trump’s first foray into defending American sports traditions against woke overreach. Earlier this year, he stood with the people of Massapequa, Long Island, when bureaucrats tried to erase the Massapequa High School Chiefs’ name and logo. “Forcing them to change the name, after all of these years, is ridiculous and, in actuality, an affront to our great Indian population,” he wrote in April.

Trump went so far as to call on his Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, to step in and advocate for common sense and cultural preservation. “LONG LIVE THE MASSAPEQUA CHIEFS!” he declared.

At a time when far-Left activists want to rewrite the past and erase anything that doesn’t fit their narrative, President Trump’s call to action reminds Americans what’s really at stake—our heritage, our identity, and our right to call things by their rightful names.

And as Trump made clear: the silent majority isn’t staying silent anymore.
