In a move that stunned even seasoned political observers, six Democrat lawmakers released a video effectively encouraging members of the United States military to refuse orders under President Donald Trump — a message that many conservatives immediately recognized as nothing short of a call for insubordination,
destabilization, and even a soft military coup.

The video, titled *“Don’t Give Up the Ship,”* featured Sen. Elissa Slotkin, Sen. Mark Kelly, Rep. Chris Deluzio, Rep. Maggie Goodlander, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, and Rep. Jason Crow — all Democrats, all with military or intelligence backgrounds, and all proudly telling active-duty servicemembers to judge the “legality” of orders coming from the commander-in-chief.
To millions of Americans, the implication was unmistakable: If Trump orders it, ignore it.

President Trump wasted no time responding. And he didn’t mince a single word.

“This is really bad, and VERY dangerous to our country,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???”

In a second post, he doubled down:

“It’s called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand — We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET.”

Then came the most explosive post yet — one that sent the media into immediate meltdown:

“SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”

Trump was referring, of course, to the fact that both sedition and treason are capital crimes under U.S. law. And many conservatives noted that what these Democrat lawmakers did — publicly urging members of the military to disobey the president — crosses a line that no responsible elected official should ever approach.

Political commentator CJ Pearson encapsulated the sentiment:

“HOLY CRAP: Democrat members of Congress — including Senators Elissa Slotkin and Mark Kelly — just released a video encouraging members of the military to defy orders from President Trump. The party of ‘NO KINGS’ is now encouraging a military coup.”

Other conservatives were equally outraged. One viral post, later reposted by Trump, stated:

“Get these people out of office!! They aren’t doing their jobs — they’re looking for ways to be rebels and take others with them. They need to go!!!”

Another pointed out the legal consequences military personnel could face if they followed the Democrats’ advice:

“They can be brought to justice under the UCMJ, get busted down or Dishonorably Discharged, and lose their career and benefits.”

Yet another commenter summarized the betrayal felt by veterans across the country:

“Those Democrat veterans took the same oath I did — to defend this country from domestic enemies. What should the American people do when the domestic enemy is THEM?”

The outrage continues to build, as Republicans warn that Democrats—still bitter that Trump returned to the White House—are now flirting with rhetoric that encourages the armed forces to disobey lawful civilian authority.

In the United States, that is not political theater.

That is the threshold of treason.
