George Soros, the billionaire financier who has spent decades bankrolling leftist movements and progressive prosecutors, is once again in the political spotlight—and this time, President Donald Trump is demanding action. In a fiery Truth Social post Wednesday morning, Trump called for Soros and his son Alex to face **RICO charges** for allegedly funding violent protests and undermining American communities.
For years, conservatives have warned about the destructive influence Soros wields through his vast fortune. From backing radical prosecutors who refuse to prosecute criminals, to funneling dark money into groups that erode law and order, Soros has long been viewed as one of the left’s most dangerous financiers. His son Alex has followed in his footsteps, continuing to bankroll progressive causes that critics say tear apart the very fabric of American society.
Trump made it clear he’s had enough. “George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America,” he wrote. RICO, or the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, is traditionally used to prosecute organized crime. Trump’s point was unmistakable: if the DOJ can use RICO to dismantle the mob, why not use it against billionaires funding political chaos?
The 45th president didn’t hold back, accusing Soros of deliberately sowing division and inflicting tyranny on America. “We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much as a chance to ‘BREATHE,’ and be FREE,” Trump declared. He went on to warn Soros’s allies, particularly on the West Coast, that their activities are being watched closely.
The accusation comes as watchdog groups continue to raise red flags about Soros’s financial networks. Reports show that he and other progressive megadonors poured tens of millions into staging demonstrations against Trump’s crackdown on crime in Washington, D.C. In total, around \$20 million flowed into activist organizations working to push pro-crime agendas under the guise of “social justice.”
Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of Americans for Public Trust, didn’t mince words about the hypocrisy. “It is ironic that a protest to ostensibly ‘Free DC’ was hosted by Community Change, a group funded by massive amounts of outside dark money to push a pro-crime agenda,” she said.
She continued, pointing to the devastation left behind in America’s capital: “DC is facing shootings, carjackings, and assaults, and yet progressive groups like The Pritzker Foundation, George Soros, and the Arabella Network all spend millions of dollars to manufacture protests that weaken our communities.”
Meanwhile, critics note that Soros’s influence isn’t confined to street protests. Through his vast network of nonprofits and NGOs, Soros has quietly inserted himself into shaping policy both in America and abroad. Even fellow billionaire Elon Musk has accused Soros of effectively weaponizing the federal government against the American people.
Trump’s bold call to use RICO against Soros marks a turning point. For decades, the left’s most powerful donor has operated unchecked, funneling billions into movements that erode the rule of law. But with violent crime surging and public patience wearing thin, more Americans are asking the same question Trump just did: why hasn’t George Soros been held accountable?
