The troubled production of the much-anticipated “Indiana Jones” sequel has taken a sinister turn, with one crew member dying on location in Morocco.

Nic Cupac, a camera operator on “Indiana Jones 5,” was found dead in his hotel room.

He was 54 years old.“He is thought to have died of natural causes,” according to the report. His cause of death hasn’t been declared publically, but “he is believed to have died as a result of natural causes.”

Only recently did industry veteran Cupac — who also worked on films in the “Jurassic Park,” “Harry Potter” and “Star Wars” franchises — fly to Morocco to assist with the big-budget blockbuster.

More than a hundred crew members had gathered in the city to prepare for a major stunt sequence, according to reports.

“Indiana Jones 5” is being produced by Walt Disney Studios, and we have inquired about Cupac’s tragic death with the studio.

The production of the film has already been beset with difficulties.

Filming has been delayed for a second time, with Morocco’s authorities deciding to prohibit flights from and to the UK owing to growing COVID infections. Set to star in the film, Harrison Ford, 79, was due to arrive in the nation just before the ban was announced. It is unknown whether he is still there.

Meanwhile, following a severe shoulder injury in June, production on the film was halted for three months. Ford only resumed filming in Italy two weeks ago.

“Indiana Jones 5” has also faced numerous production delays owing to the COVID epidemic.

The film’s release date was previously set for July 9, 2021, but it has been rescheduled to July 29, 2022, owing to the epidemic. Disney initially planned the film for a theatrical debut on July 9, 2021.

It’s unclear whether Cupac’s death will result in any further delays.

Walt Disney Studios have been producing the Indiana Jones Movie. It is a continuation of George Lucas’ story where Indy has been living in a monastery as he has retired from his action hero days. The film’s shooting will start on July 2017 and the shooting was going to take place in New Mexico, but it has been delayed due to wildfires. The film is set to release on 22nd July 2021.

Ford was injured during a stunt sequence back in June, but now the production has been halted due to one of the workers dying in their hotel room. The cause of his death is not yet known and it will be revealed as soon as the authorities make a statement. The filming for Indiana Jones 5 is slated to commence on August 12th, 2017. A release date of July 29th, 2022 has been set for the film.
