The Cold War was unlike any other period in history. Every day, individuals were afraid it might be the end of the world. This may be the day that America and the Soviet Union start a war. The destruction of both nations, as well as possibly much of the rest of the world, would have been an almost certain and total victory for either side. This potential catastrophe was a constant reality for millions of citizens from both nations.

In the United States, children would practice bomb drills in school out of worry that they may be attacked at any moment. Although I’m not sure what hiding under a desk will accomplish when nuclear bombs are exploding. Some individuals were so concerned about this reality that they felt compelled to take action.

The more affluent in America had the luxury of constructing a high-tech, multi-million-dollar bunker that would really give protection and security if The Cold War ever escalated to full-scale warfare. If you’re still looking for a useable and functional underground shelter, the owner of this $10 million dollar bunker may have something for you!

This is the location in Savannah, Georgia, where we can find it. It’s on a large piece of property that appears to be far removed from any significant population centers.

The Cold War-era Soviet command center was carved out of the granite mountain in 1969 and is buried 45 feet underground. The bunker has two separate levels. The top level is entirely made up of residences, while the lower level contains shared spaces.

The bunker was originally built for military training. It has been reworked into a luxurious subterranean living area since then. These are the living quarters. They’re quite roomy when compared to other underground spaces, which measure about 600 square feet.

The lowest level of the facility is shown here. This region includes a classroom/meeting room, as well as workshops and decontamination showers.

The bunker’s co-owner, Chris Salamone of Bastion Holdings, said it is intended for emergencies only“offers the ultimate safe haven for any family, business or government that wants the ultimate in security and comfort.”

The stairs leading down to the bunker’s subterranean core. In 2012, the entire facility was brought up to government standards and renovated.

This facility can withstand a 20 kiloton nuclear blast, terrorist assaults, and civil unrest. I can’t fathom being beneath the earth’s surface while the world is on fire above me.

The media/games room is in the rear of the home. There is plenty of space for a large number of individuals. When you have seen the same people day after day, you will require entertainment.

If you intend on spending any amount of time in this shelter, you’ll need a classroom. Education does not cease just because the world is falling apart.

Even during the end of the world, chefs may appreciate the lovely cabinets and granite worktops in this kitchen.

The multi-million dollar refuge has several kitchens spread out over the property. Each one is just as beautiful as the previous one.

This facility is ready for power outages and just about any other infrastructure damage that may occur, thanks to the photovoltaic panels.

This property offers everything that you would anticipate from a five-star hotel. The owners of the home have stated that the multimillion dollar bunker might be converted into a corporate retreat if needed.

This place is a real hotel! There’s even a $100k CCTV system and a weapons chamber in the bunker.

Because the walls are made of 3 feet of concrete, you won’t have to worry about noise.

This is the main kitchen for the entire complex. There’s enough of room for a lot of people in here. There is also plenty of storage for meals.

There is plenty of space to sit here.

That’s not too shabby for the end of the world, is it?

It’s available in camouflage and olive drab, making it a great gift for car enthusiasts or veterans. It also has a military-grade Humvee! Who hasn’t wished they owned one of these at some time?

The home also includes air intake systems and a nursing station, as well as modernized systems. Whoever renovated this place made every effort to keep it up to date. The fact that the bunker contains $100k just for the CCTV system demonstrates how much attention was paid to detail. Whoever ends up owning this multi-million dollar underground hideaway will feel safe no matter what happens in the world outside.
