Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and one recent story has showcased the truth of the statement during a time of divineness within society.

A teenage boy stood up against someone who hurt an innocent older woman, and the results were amazing. Ahmed Khalifa was riding the subway to high school in Brooklyn, New York, when he witnessed a fellow passenger approach a Jewish woman reading quietly by herself.

The man slapped the innocent woman in the face and instantly ran. The slap broke the glasses of the poor woman, which then cut her face. She started to cry out of shear shock at the situation.

Several other passengers saw the event as well and rushed to help the woman, but Khalifa was not about to let the assailant get away. Despite his lack of experience as a mere 17-year-old, the teen asked the conductor to send for help while he went chasing after the man. Khalifa spotted the man near the back of the subway car, and he kept his eyes locked with the criminal.

The man was able to get off the subway before he ran for several blocks, and Khalifa lost sight of the criminal. With the help of a good samaritan who stopped to offer assistance, the assailant was eventually found and arrested.

He was identified as Rayvon Jones, a 31-year-old from the city.

Without the aid of Khalifa, Jones would have certainly gotten away with his heinous and unprovoked attack.

The woman who was attacked was dressed in the traditional Jewish garb, so it should have been obvious to anyone why she was dressed in such a manner. Khalifa, being a Muslim, said he didn’t think of it as helping a Jewish lady.

He was merely helping a lady who needed help.
