Former actress Nicki Lynn Aycox, best known for her role as Meg Masters in Supernatural passed away at the age of 47.

Aycox’s sister-in-law confirmed the actress’ passing on social media. While the cause of death has not been released, Aycox had previously mentioned her leukemia diagnosis online. “She was definitely a fighter and everyone who knew her loved her,” Ceklosky stated.

Eric Kripke, creator of Supernatural wrote a Twitter post expressing his devastation on learning Aycox had passed away. “Too young,” Kripke said. “She was a delight & delivered lines like honey & venom. I marvel at how she made a simple word like ‘lackluster’ legendary.”

Aycox appeared on Supernatural between 2006 and 2008, playing the role of Meg Masters. She has shared scenes with Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki on the show.

On Twitter, Supernatural creator Erik Kripke reacted to the loss of Aycox saying, “Gutted to hear the great #NickiAycox, our first #MegMasters, passed away. Too young. She was a delight & delivered lines like honey & venom. I marvel at how she made a simple word like ‘lackluster’ legendary.”

The actress had other credits including a starring role in the show Cold Case, LAX, Ed, Law & Order, Las Vegas, Dark Blue, USA High, Dark Angel, Ally McBeal, The X-Files, Boy Meets World, and Providence.

Aycox’s film credits include Jeepers Creepers 2, Perfect Stranger, Tom Cool and The Girl on the Train. Most recently, she appeared in Dead on Campus as Danielle Williams in 2014.

Aycox is originally from Hennessey, Oklahoma.
