Stacey Abrams, the failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate and Democrat activist, is at the center of a growing scandal involving a staggering $2 billion “green energy” slush fund that critics say was nothing more than a blatant vote-buying scheme. Allegedly disguised as an environmental initiative, the program handed out free home appliances in what many see as a desperate Democratic attempt to lock in support ahead of the next election.
The controversy exploded onto the national stage when President Donald Trump called out the corruption during his historic address to Congress, exposing yet another case of wasteful government spending under the Biden administration.
Conservatives were quick to condemn the scandal, calling it yet another example of Democrats using taxpayer dollars to buy votes.
“The EPA-Stacey Abrams grift revealed: @staceyabrams just told MSNBC’s @chrislhayes that the Biden EPA gave her $2 billion to buy people new home appliances to reduce electric bills. So Democrats upgraded vote buying from Obama phones to Biden refrigerators,” said Fox News contributor Steve Milloy.
And it gets worse. Lee Zeldin, head of the Environmental Protection Agency, dropped another bombshell, revealing that the Biden EPA funneled a massive $20 billion into a handful of politically connected left-wing NGOs—many of which didn’t even exist before this scheme was cooked up. The corruption was so blatant that even the Department of Justice and FBI have opened an investigation, and the bank has frozen the funds.
President Trump didn’t hold back, putting Abrams and the Biden administration on blast during his address.
“$1.9 billion to recently-created decarbonization of homes committee headed up, and we know she’s involved. Just at the last moment, the money was passed over by a woman named Stacey Abrams. Have you ever heard of her?” Trump said, drawing laughter from the crowd.
It was a moment that humiliated Abrams on a national stage, exposing her and the Democrats’ latest scheme to spend billions in taxpayer money while claiming it’s all in the name of “equity.”
Abrams rushed to MSNBC’s All In With Chris Hayes in a desperate attempt to defend herself.
She admitted to leading a program called “[re]vitalizing DeSoto” in a small Georgia town, replacing old appliances with “energy-efficient” ones. Her excuse? “We accomplished that for 75% of the community. They got appliances that are lowering their bills,” she said, as if this somehow justifies the massive funneling of government money to Democrat-aligned organizations.
But conservatives aren’t buying it. Libs of TikTok put it bluntly: “Stacey Abrams is freaking out because she’s being investigated for all of her fraud.”
Abrams lashed out at Trump, calling him a “petty tyrant” and accusing him of using “complicit flunkies” to attack her. But her critics fired back, making it clear that this is exactly what Americans voted for: holding corrupt Democrats accountable for their schemes, fraud, and taxpayer abuse.
With the DOJ and FBI now involved, and funds frozen, the question remains: Will Abrams finally be held accountable? Or will the Biden administration quietly sweep this under the rug like so many other Democrat scandals?
One thing is for sure—Trump isn’t letting this one go. And neither should the American people.
