House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) isn’t holding back anymore. In a fiery statement back in March, the Speaker called out Democrats—especially Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer—for stoking the flames of political violence with reckless rhetoric designed to rile up activists against Republicans.

For years, Democrats have claimed to be the party of “norms” and “democracy,” yet their words and actions tell a different story. Ever since President Trump shocked the political establishment in 2016, the Left has been in a tailspin—moving from stunned disbelief to blind rage. That rage, Johnson warned, has now spilled into dangerous territory.

“Chuck Schumer engaged in a lot of unusual activity last week, but among the most concerning was his invitation to activists nationwide,” Johnson said in his March 25 remarks.

Johnson then highlighted Schumer’s brazen call to mobilize angry protesters and target Republicans directly. Quoting the Democrat leader, he said:

“‘We are mobilizing in New York. We have people going to the Republican districts and going after these Republicans who are voting for this and forcing them to either change their vote or face the consequences.’”

This wasn’t a slip of the tongue. As Johnson reminded Americans, Schumer has a history of reckless statements—including his infamous moment outside the Supreme Court when he threatened conservative justices over abortion rulings.

“This is a pattern,” Johnson warned. “It was reminiscent of the threats he made to Supreme Court Justices a year and a half ago.”

The results of this rhetoric are already playing out. Johnson revealed that just hours after Schumer’s latest call to action, far-left agitators disrupted Republican events, with at least one altercation turning physical against Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY).

“This is dangerous rhetoric,” Johnson said bluntly. “And that message was received.”

What Democrats dismiss as “protest” has become outright intimidation. According to Johnson, Republican lawmakers have faced threats at public events, in their districts, and even while attending school functions with their children. The escalation, he said, proves Democrats are playing with fire.

> “It’s gotten out of hand…So I’m calling on Leader Schumer and Leader Jeffries in the House to put an end to this,” Johnson demanded. “Threats of violence and intimidation like that is not an acceptable form of political protest.”

The Speaker drew a sharp line between legitimate free speech and what Democrats are encouraging.

“We all believe in free speech. I used to defend it in courts,” Johnson reminded. “But this is something very different, and it’s a very serious situation, and they need to get control of that.”

For all their sanctimonious lectures about “January 6” and “protecting democracy,” Democrats appear comfortable weaponizing anger when it suits them. Speaker Johnson’s warning is clear: if Democrats don’t stop feeding this fire, America’s already strained political climate could spiral into something far worse.
