Tuesday night’s State of the Union address—the first of President Donald Trump’s second term—was off to a fiery start when Speaker Mike Johnson took swift action against an out-of-control Democrat. In a move that had Republicans roaring with approval, Johnson ordered the Sergeant at Arms to physically remove Rep. Al Green from the House Chamber after he caused a chaotic scene, waving his cane and shouting over President Trump’s speech.

Al Green’s Embarrassing Outburst

Rep. Green, a longtime anti-Trump agitator, couldn’t contain himself as the president began his remarks. Instead of conducting himself with even a shred of decorum, Green leapt to his feet, wildly flailing his cane and attempting to shout over the Commander-in-Chief. His disruptive antics came despite clear warnings from Speaker Johnson that order would be maintained during the address.

It didn’t take long for Johnson to make good on his promise. The Speaker swiftly ordered the Sergeant at Arms to remove the unruly congressman, putting an immediate stop to the spectacle.

Chamber Erupts as Green Is Escorted Out

The reaction in the House Chamber was electric. As security escorted Green out, Republican lawmakers erupted in cheers and applause, while Democrats sat in stunned silence, some booing and glowering. The incident was captured in a now-viral video, with half the chamber standing and celebrating as their Democrat counterparts stewed in anger.

Breaking the news on X (formerly Twitter), journalist Nick Sortor summed up the moment perfectly:

“🚨 #BREAKING: Speaker Johnson just ORDERED the Sergeant at Arms to forcefully REMOVE Rep. Al Green after he had an unhinged meltdown while Trump was speaking. These people are DERANGED.”

Conservatives across social media applauded Speaker Johnson’s firm stance, with one user commenting, “Good. Expel them from school like the little children they are acting like.” Another added, “Rep. Al Green’s meltdown during Trump’s speech only highlights the Democrats’ out-of-control behavior.”

A particularly sharp comment noted:

“When your entire party platform is built on Trump Derangement Syndrome, eventually the mask slips — and Al Green just gave everyone a front-row seat. These aren’t leaders. They’re unhinged activists cosplaying as lawmakers, and they can’t even hold it together when faced with a speech. The real question—if this is how they behave in public, what do you think they’re plotting behind closed doors?”

Democrats Try—and Fail—to Spin the Meltdown

Naturally, Democrats tried to spin the incident as some sort of victory, with one leftist account claiming, “Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has a meltdown and threatens to remove Democrats, notably Al Green, from the House chambers during Donald Trump’s joint address of Congress. Which he does 30 seconds later. What a total disaster for Donald Trump.”

That take is laughable. The only “disaster” Tuesday night was the Democratic Party’s utter inability to behave like adults in a setting that demands respect. Instead of listening to the President of the United States, they resorted to heckling, tantrums, and, in Green’s case, a public meltdown so embarrassing that he had to be forcibly removed.

Speaker Johnson Stands Strong

In removing Green, Speaker Johnson not only upheld order in the chamber but also sent a clear message: the days of Democrats running wild and turning official government proceedings into circus acts are over. His decisive action was a breath of fresh air for millions of Americans tired of the left’s disruptive, childish antics.

If Democrats thought their antics would rattle President Trump or throw off his message, they were sorely mistaken. Trump remained unfazed, delivering a strong, confident speech focused on restoring America’s greatness. Meanwhile, Green’s unhinged behavior only reinforced what conservatives have known for years—Democrats aren’t interested in governing. They’re only interested in obstructing, grandstanding, and making fools of themselves.

Speaker Johnson did what any leader should do—he put a stop to the nonsense. And Republicans, along with millions of Americans watching at home, loved every second of it.
