Two senior citizens are making headlines for their dance skills.

Jackie McGee and Charlie Womble are a dancing duo from South Carolina who have recently gone viral for their moves.

In a video titled “Jackie McGee and Charlie Womble Spotlight Dance July 13, 2013,” they’re seen effortlessly spinning, stepping and shaking their groove things to a classic song by Eric Benet.

“I could watch this a million times and not get tired of it,” says one commenter.

“Love it love it love it!!!” enthuses another. “You two just seem to be gliding over ice….just wonderful!?” What many viewers fail to realize is that McGee and Womble have done this before.

A talented and experienced duo, they’ve participated in everything from music festivals to championship-level dancing competitions, and they’ve amassed a variety of awards and accolades.

Their trophy shelf includes first-place prizes from the National Shag Dance Championship and the U.S. Open Swing Championship.

According to their website, they went 12 years without suffering a single defeat in senior dance competitions. A particular favorite of the duo is the “shag.”

A regional dance from South Carolina, it infuses ’50s and ’60s swing-dancing moves with a variety of pop, rock and R&B music.

It utilizes a six-count pattern that requires dancing partners to move back and forth together like an accordion. “Their Dancing is SO LOVELY to Watch,” says one commenter. “So SMOOTH, So Sensual AND it’s So Awesome to see an Older Couple Having a Wonderful Time.”

McGee and Womble are still dancing today. In addition to competing, they also host workshops and offer lessons to future generations of shag dancers.
