Things got fiery on Capitol Hill as Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) took a flamethrower to the growing abuse of judicial power—especially when it comes to liberal judges issuing nationwide injunctions to derail President Donald Trump’s America First agenda. During a Senate hearing titled “Rule by District Judges II: Exploring Legislative Solutions to the Bipartisan Problem of Universal Injunctions,” Cruz squared off with Democrat Senator Amy Klobuchar (MN) in a heated clash that pulled the curtain back on the Left’s weaponization of the courts.

The issue at hand? The alarming trend of individual, often activist, federal judges issuing sweeping rulings that block presidential policies nationwide—an authority never intended for unelected district court judges with political axes to grind.

Senator Cruz, never one to pull punches, slammed the practice as not only unconstitutional but a coordinated effort by the radical Left to sideline Trump’s presidency by judicial fiat. “Understand this is the second phase of lawfare,” Cruz said, hammering home the fact that since Democrats failed to stop Trump through bogus indictments and lawfare tactics, they’ve turned to cherry-picking activist judges to do their bidding.

Cruz didn’t hold back, exposing the partisan agenda behind the so-called “universal injunctions.” He called them what they are: “an abuse of power,” saying flat-out that the judiciary is overstepping its role and behaving like a shadow legislature. “It is the judiciary acting as policy deciders,” Cruz warned, “and it is incumbent on this committee and this body to rein in the abuse of power from these unelected radical judges who are trying to overturn the election because they disagree with what the voters decided.”

That didn’t sit well with Klobuchar, who erupted in what can only be described as a textbook liberal meltdown. “Okay, that was a lot,” she sneered, claiming—laughably—that these injunctions are happening only because Trump is “violating the Constitution.” A bold claim, considering how many of those rulings have later been reversed. But for Democrats, the narrative always trumps facts.

Cruz hit back with a question that cut to the core of the issue: “Why don’t you file them in red districts?” he asked, pointing out that Democrat attorneys general constantly go judge-shopping in friendly, deep-blue jurisdictions. “Why are the Democrat attorneys general seeking out left-wing, blue swing districts?” he pressed.

Klobuchar, clearly rattled, shot back, “What did you just say?” as if threatening to escalate the confrontation even further. Cruz calmly repeated his point, exposing the Left’s double standard and their tactical manipulation of the court system.

What followed was a tense, chaotic back-and-forth as Klobuchar whined about Cruz “yelling,” to which the Texas senator responded sharply: “I’m not yelling, I asked a question.”

Despite the leftist theatrics, Cruz’s central point was clear—and it resonated: unelected judges shouldn’t have the power to nullify a president’s agenda nationwide. That power rests with Congress and, ultimately, the American people—not one rogue judge with a political agenda.

For those who value separation of powers, checks and balances, and the will of the voters, Senator Cruz delivered a much-needed wake-up call. The days of judicial activism steamrolling conservative leadership may be numbered—if leaders like Cruz have anything to say about it.
