In yet another example of the far-left’s unhinged theatrics, over two dozen progressive activists trespassed onto Republican Rep. Bryan Steil’s Wisconsin property to stage a bizarre “mock funeral” for American democracy. The protesters, organized by the Southern Wisconsin Grassroots Network and the Working Families Party, left behind a taped-together cardboard coffin labeled “Death of Democracy” — a stunt that was equal parts childish and threatening.

The coffin came complete with a melodramatic message blaming Steil and former President Donald Trump for supposedly killing the “hopes of the most vulnerable” with Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” The sign declared, “RIP democracy 1776-2025” — a statement as historically illiterate as it was absurd.

One of the protest organizers even livestreamed the stunt, admitting on Facebook Live that they were leaving quickly to avoid the police. “We’re not going to hang out here because we’re not going to invite the police to come and ask questions,” the activist said, essentially confessing to trespassing before hightailing it out of town.

Ravi Mangla, a spokesperson for the Working Families Party, defended the stunt with the usual left-wing talking points, claiming that Steil’s vote would somehow cause “17 million Americans to lose life-saving medical care.” She then compared their protest to a harmless group of seniors “holding some taped-together cardboard” — conveniently ignoring the fact that it took place on a lawmaker’s private property in a clear attempt at intimidation.

Rep. Steil, however, wasn’t rattled. Speaking to Fox News Digital, the Wisconsin Republican slammed the incident. “It’s disappointing that Democrat leadership and the radical left resort to these types of tactics. I remain committed to my work to get this country back on track and will not be deterred by their threats,” Steil said.

This isn’t the first time these groups have targeted Steil. Earlier this year, the same leftist activists organized another protest, accusing Trump, Elon Musk, and Republicans in Congress of launching an “all-out assault on working Americans” — a claim that conveniently ignores the economic devastation caused by President Biden’s inflationary policies.

Their accusations against Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill are equally dishonest. Despite the fearmongering about Medicare cuts, the bill does nothing of the sort. In fact, the legislation cuts taxes, boosts funding for law enforcement, goes after fraud, and puts more money directly into Americans’ pockets.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt laid out the facts: the bill increases the child tax credit for more than 40 million families, ends taxes on tips, slashes taxes for overtime workers like police officers, and reduces Social Security taxes for seniors. “That’s just the start,” Leavitt said. “We must pass this big, beautiful bill and usher in a new golden age for all Americans.”

While the far left stages coffin parades and trespasses on private property, Republicans are focused on policies that strengthen families, reward work, and protect American taxpayers. The contrast couldn’t be clearer — one side is delivering results, the other is delivering cardboard props and empty slogans.
