Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) didn’t hold back in a recent interview with podcaster and new Christian convert Russell Brand. The firebrand conservative Congresswoman took aim at one of the left’s most glorified figures — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — and called her out for what she really is: a phony populist who talks big but votes like a loyal foot soldier for the Democrat establishment.

“I do think AOC is a fraud. I absolutely believe she’s a fraud,” Greene said plainly, cutting through the media hype surrounding AOC’s carefully curated image as a working-class revolutionary.

And Greene has a point. AOC stormed into Washington in 2018 with promises to shake up the Democrat Party, famously staging a protest in then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office. The left and their media allies anointed her as the next great progressive voice — someone who would stand up to corporate Democrats and push radical change. But somewhere along the way, AOC stopped being a rebel and started playing by the rules of the very system she claimed to oppose.

“She was supposed to be the one to change the Democrat Party,” Greene reminded Brand. “She’s fallen totally in line.”

Nowhere has AOC’s transformation been more glaring than in her foreign policy votes. Despite her base’s vocal opposition, she supported continued funding for both the war in Ukraine and Israel’s efforts in Gaza — a move that infuriated the far-left activists who once viewed her as their champion.

“She voted 100% for the Ukraine war, voted to fund all of that… weapons, everything,” Greene noted. “With her amendment, she exposed herself to be a liar about demanding the end of the genocide in Gaza.”

For those paying attention, the shift is unmistakable. AOC talks like a revolutionary on social media, but when it comes time to vote, she toes the party line. Whether it’s billions to Ukraine or a softening stance on Israel, she’s proved that when push comes to shove, she’ll stand with Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer — not the progressive grassroots.

Greene added, “She’s exposed herself, and her base is seeing it. I think that’s interesting.”

The frustration on both sides of the aisle with “pretend populists” is growing. Whether it’s Democrats like AOC or Republicans who make bold promises and then deliver little more than hollow soundbites, Greene says the American people are fed up.

Posting on X, she recently warned GOP leadership that voters are done being strung along. “If you tell the base of people, who support you, of deep state treasonous crimes, election interference, blackmail, and rich powerful elite evil cabals, then you must take down every enemy of The People.”

In other words: if you talk like a populist, you better govern like one.

Greene summed it up bluntly: “Dangling bits of red meat no longer satisfies. They want the whole steak dinner and will accept nothing else.”

Whether you agree with Greene or not, she’s touching on a very real frustration across America. Voters are tired of being lied to — by politicians who act like outsiders until the moment they get a taste of the perks that come with power. And as AOC’s own base begins to wake up to the truth, Greene’s message is clear: frauds will be exposed.
