In what can only be described as a repugnant display of hate and vitriol, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace launched a horrendous attack on former President Donald Trump after his State of the Union address on Tuesday, March 4. Her target? A 13-year-old cancer survivor who Trump had honored for his bravery after battling pediatric cancer for six years. Wallace’s sickening comments overshadowed a touching moment that should have been celebrated for its heartwarming humanity, instead turning it into an opportunity to malign the President and perpetuate false narratives.
During the State of the Union, Trump made a special gesture by recognizing a young boy who had defied the odds, surviving a deadly cancer diagnosis and surviving far beyond his doctor’s grim prognosis. The child, accompanied by his father, received an honorary Secret Service badge for his courage. It was a beautiful, uplifting moment—one of the few sparks of light in an otherwise heavy political address. But in true fashion, the Democrats refused to even applaud the boy’s accomplishments, and the media, including MSNBC’s Wallace, had the audacity to attack the President for his gesture.
Wallace, seizing upon this moment, launched into a cruel and inflammatory tirade. In an attempt to dismiss the emotional weight of the event, she sarcastically remarked, “Let’s just stick with DJ,” referring to the cancer survivor. She continued, saying, “I think that if there was a moment where your whole body could relax and you could celebrate someone, it was the 13-year-old cancer survivor who would like to be a police officer.”
But Wallace couldn’t let the sweet moment stand without turning it into a political attack. She bizarrely dragged the boy’s life-saving treatment into her vitriol, falsely claiming that Trump was responsible for cutting cancer research funding. “It’s a fact that Trump has slashed cancer research,” she claimed, without any foundation to her statement. In reality, under Trump’s leadership, cancer research funding remained robust, and many advances were made in medical treatment for pediatric cancer.
Continuing her rant, Wallace misrepresented the facts by tying Trump’s policies to the survival of the young boy. “It is likely he benefited from some sort of cancer research,” she said, questioning whether the boy’s life was saved by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), despite Trump’s alleged cuts. Of course, she offered no evidence that these cuts were responsible for any harm to the child, but that didn’t stop her from spreading misinformation.
As if that wasn’t enough, Wallace also tried to twist the narrative around the January 6th incident, which has been continuously weaponized by the left to smear Trump and his supporters. She falsely claimed that the individuals involved in the unrest “murdered cops,” an outright lie. No police officers were murdered during the January 6 protests, despite what the left-wing media continues to assert.
In a despicable attempt to inject more negativity into the conversation, Wallace made an appalling remark about the child’s future. With no regard for the boy’s incredible resilience, Wallace said, “And I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide.” This remark, which seemed to imply a connection between the boy’s future and the tragic deaths of police officers allegedly tied to January 6, was deeply disturbing and utterly uncalled for.
Nicolle Wallace’s comments reflect the left’s desperate need to undermine anything positive associated with Trump. What should have been a heartwarming moment to honor a young boy’s victory over cancer became fodder for divisive, baseless attacks. It is a shame that MSNBC continues to peddle this kind of negativity, rather than acknowledging the joy that Trump’s gesture brought to this young hero and his family. Instead, they resort to falsehoods, hostility, and a complete lack of compassion. Let’s hope this is the last time Wallace uses such a beautiful moment as a weapon for her own bitter agenda.
