In 1966, Bressoud joined the New York Mets, becoming the first former New York Giant to wear the orange and blue uniform. His time with the Mets was short but impactful, as he set a team record for a shortstop by hitting 10 home runs in a single season. This record stood until it was later matched by Kevin Elster in 1989 and surpassed by Jose Reyes in 2006.
Bressoud’s illustrious career reached its pinnacle in 1967 when he played for the St. Louis Cardinals, winning the World Series title.
