In a bold move that continues to put the Biden family under scrutiny, First Lady Melania Trump is taking legal action against Hunter Biden, sending the notorious former first son a $1 billion legal notice for making false and defamatory claims about her. The lawsuit follows hot on the heels of Ashley Biden’s divorce announcement, piling more legal woes onto the embattled Biden clan.
The dispute stems from an interview Hunter Biden gave to YouTuber Andrew Callaghan on August 6, in which he falsely claimed that Jeffrey Epstein had introduced Melania Trump to former President Donald Trump. Hunter asserted, “Epstein introduced Melania, and that’s how Melania and the first lady and the President met.” Melania’s legal team insists the statement is categorically false.
Alejandro Brito, litigation counsel for Melania Trump, fired off a scathing letter to Hunter Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, demanding an immediate public retraction of the statements. “These false, disparaging, defamatory, and inflammatory statements are extremely salacious and have been widely disseminated throughout various digital mediums,” Brito wrote.
The letter notes that the video has been republished across multiple media outlets, reaching millions worldwide. Brito stressed the harm caused to Melania’s reputation, saying, “Consequently, you have caused Mrs. Trump to suffer overwhelming financial and reputational harm.”
Brito also pointed out that Hunter relied on serial fabulist Michael Wolff, whose lies about Melania were already retracted by The Daily Beast following a cease-and-desist demand from Melania’s team. Despite the retraction, Hunter “maliciously elected to republish” the false claims, Brito wrote, adding that the timing of the video suggests “actual malice” and a desire to draw attention to himself.
The legal notice demands that Hunter “immediately issue a full and fair retraction of the video and any and all other false, defamatory, disparaging, misleading, and inflammatory statements about Mrs. Trump” and formally apologize. Failure to comply by August 7, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. EST, would leave Melania with no choice but to pursue legal action seeking more than $1 billion in damages.
In typical fashion, Hunter Biden refused to back down. When asked about the notice, he bluntly responded, “F*ck that.” His defiance underscores the recklessness that has followed him for years, from questionable business dealings to repeated public scandals.
For Melania Trump, the case represents more than just defending her reputation—it is a clear stand against the Biden family’s pattern of exploiting others’ names for personal gain. Conservatives are pointing to this as yet another example of Hunter Biden using controversy and falsehoods to profit while evading accountability.
With the legal clock ticking and a $1 billion lawsuit on the table, the nation now watches to see if Hunter Biden will finally face consequences for his reckless behavior—or if the First Lady will once again have to fight to protect her name against the chaos surrounding the Biden family.
