An actor who appeared in the classic ’80s crime drama “Magnum, P.I.”,” died Sunday as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident last week, his daughter announced. He was 83 years old. Mosley, who played helicopter pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin on the hit series, passed away surrounded by family. Since the collision, he had been paralyzed from the shoulders down and remained in critical condition, according to Ch-a Mosley’s Facebook post.

“We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name. It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all,” his daughter said in a statement.

On Sunday, fellow actor Richard Brooks paid homage to Mosley.

“We’ve lost another great actor & legend today,” he said.

“I enjoyed working with Roger so much. He really came thru for me when I produced my first play. He was the best. Condolences to the Mosley family.”

From 1980 until 1988, he appeared in the show alongside Tom Selleck for eight seasons.

Magnum P.I. was one of the most popular shows on television in the 1980s. The show starred Tom Selleck as the title character, a private investigator living in Hawaii. Magnum was always getting into exciting and dangerous situations, but he always managed to get out of them unscathed with the help of his buddies T.C. and Higgins.

What made Magnum P.I. so popular was the combination of action, humor, and romance. Tom Selleck was perfect in the lead role, and the supporting cast was excellent as well. The show spawned a few spin-offs, including a series about Magnum’s daughter Lily and one about his former Navy SEAL partner Rick Wright.

Even thirty years after it ended, Magnum P.I. is still fondly remembered by millions of people around the world. If you’ve never seen it before, I highly recommend checking it out!
