Once again, President Trump has proven to be the only adult in the room, stepping in to restore law and order in Los Angeles as radical leftist mobs turned the city into a war zone. Despite hysterical and dishonest attacks from California’s far-left Governor Gavin Newsom, the facts have now fully vindicated President Trump’s decisive action.
Since June 7, 2025, Los Angeles has been gripped by violent anti-ICE riots, reminiscent of the chaos that swept American cities during the summer of 2020. Left-wing extremists—enabled by weak Democratic leadership—have torched vehicles, assaulted law enforcement officers, and proudly desecrated American flags. These lawless thugs, cheered on by the progressive media, once again exposed the left’s willingness to tolerate anarchy if it serves their political agenda.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, President Trump acted swiftly, deploying 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles to support overwhelmed local law enforcement. His goal was simple: protect innocent civilians, defend federal property, and restore peace. Predictably, Gavin Newsom responded not with gratitude, but with his usual brand of partisan theatrics.
“This is exactly what Donald Trump wanted,” Newsom ranted, accusing the president of manufacturing the crisis. In his desperate attempt to rewrite reality, Newsom claimed, “Local law enforcement didn’t need help. Trump sent troops anyway — to manufacture chaos and violence.” The governor even accused Trump of attempting to “militarize a city and circumvent our democracy.”
But Newsom’s tired, anti-Trump narrative quickly fell apart under the weight of the facts. As the violence escalated, even the Los Angeles Police Department was forced to declare an “unlawful assembly” in the city’s downtown area. In a public statement, the LAPD warned that agitators had splintered into multiple groups and that officers were being dispatched across the city to disperse violent mobs.
In other words, exactly the type of widespread lawlessness that made Trump’s deployment necessary in the first place.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t hold back, calling out Newsom’s cowardice and lies. “Gavin Newsom did nothing as violent riots erupted in Los Angeles for days,” she stated bluntly. Leavitt went on to highlight that federal law enforcement officers were physically attacked by radical agitators and illegal migrants waving foreign flags while Newsom stood by, paralyzed by his own far-left ideology.
“The Los Angeles Police Chief has even said the riots were getting out of hand,” Leavitt added. “President Trump has stepped in to maintain law and order and protect federal buildings.”
The truth is simple: while Democrats like Gavin Newsom hide behind empty rhetoric and false accusations, President Trump once again demonstrated his commitment to protecting American lives, property, and sovereignty. His swift action exposed the glaring failure of California’s Democratic leadership, who seem more concerned with appeasing the radical left than defending their own citizens.
As the left’s anti-police, anti-law enforcement agenda continues to fuel lawlessness, President Trump remains steadfast in his mission: standing up for law-abiding Americans and restoring order when Democrat-run cities spiral into chaos.
