Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem didn’t mince words Sunday as she pushed back hard against left-wing attacks on Florida’s newest migrant detention center—dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz”—during a fiery interview on NBC’s Meet the Press.

Democrats, desperate to score political points, are now sounding the alarm over the facility, which currently houses around 900 illegal immigrants but has room for nearly 4,000. The media and progressive lawmakers rushed to label the site “inhumane,” but Noem wasn’t having any of it.

“These are the same people who were silent when Biden’s border policies created chaos, human trafficking, and overcrowded facilities that made humanitarian crises the norm,” Noem said, refusing to let NBC’s Kristen Welker run the usual interference.

Noem was repeatedly interrupted by the Meet the Press host as she attempted to explain that the Alligator Alcatraz facility—run by the state of Florida—meets, and in many cases exceeds, federal detention standards.

But the liberal media doesn’t want facts—they want footage of fences and heat so they can manufacture outrage. The Democrats’ tour of the facility, led by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), predictably ended in melodramatic claims of “internment camps” and “cages.”

According to the Biden apologists, the issue isn’t illegal immigration—it’s that conservatives are finally enforcing the law.

Welker threw out loaded phrases like “30 people stuffed into a jail cell,” but Noem didn’t back down.

“I wish they’d shown this level of outrage back when the Biden administration had people stacked like firewood on cement floors with zero ventilation,” Noem fired back. “But they didn’t, because their outrage is selective, partisan, and frankly dishonest.”

Noem also took the opportunity to point out what the media refuses to: migrants at these centers have a clear alternative — self-deportation.

“No one’s forcing them to stay in detention,” Noem noted. “They’re free to return to their home countries and re-enter legally if they qualify. This isn’t about cruelty—it’s about sovereignty and restoring law and order.”

Backing Noem was Trump-era border czar Tom Homan, who hammered Democrats on CNN’s State of the Union for their sudden concern over detention conditions.

“You didn’t hear any of them speak out when Biden had migrants sleeping outside in 100-degree heat behind makeshift fences,” Homan said. “They ignored four years of open borders, historic migrant deaths, and women and children being trafficked like livestock.”

Indeed, during the Biden administration, the border became a humanitarian disaster zone, with fentanyl pouring in, cartels exploiting gaps in enforcement, and Americans paying the price. But now that Trump and his allies are cleaning up the mess, Democrats want to pretend they’re the moral authority?

Give us a break.

The Biden administration spent four years ignoring the consequences of open borders. Now that the pendulum is swinging back toward law, order, and national security, the left is trying to shift the narrative with fake outrage and cherry-picked soundbites.

But Americans know the truth: this administration is finally putting the safety of U.S. citizens first — and no amount of grandstanding from MSNBC or the Squad is going to change that.
