Kevin Bacon was one of the many stars around the globe to pay his respects when The Rolling Stones’ Charlie Watts died.

At the age of 80, drummer Charlie Watts died. When he was stricken with throat cancer in 2004, Watts was a well-known jazz bandleader. He received extensive therapy and fully recovered. His recovery enabled him to resume touring with both the Stones and his jazz group. Watts, on the other hand, has stated that he will not tour with the Stones in 2021 owing to an unknown health problem.

Charlie’s death was announced by his publicist, Bernard Doherty, on August 24, 2021. Watts died in the hospital where he was surrounded by family, according to Doherty.

In a heartfelt tribute, actor Kevin Bacon posted several photos to social media. Taking to Instagram, Kevin Bacon shared a video of himself from his family’s house, where he spoke about Charlie’s life and how the Rolling Stones had influenced him as a youngster.

On his social media post, he said:

“About 1966 my dad went over to London and asked somebody ‘what are the kids listening to. ’ He picked up a couple of forty fives and bought them back for my older brother Mike and I remember him playing them and listening to that sound from the Rolling Stones and thinking ‘this is changing my life’ at seven years old. I’ve seen the Stones more than any other band live and Charlie was not a flashy drummer but a tasty drummer and an absolute master.

He will be missed. Rest in the pocket Charlie. ”

Following her father’s post, Sosie Bacon was one of the first people to reply. She simply made a sad face to show her support.

Fans from all over the world added their voices in support as well. One of them wrote, “I’ve been a fan since I was 17 years old, which was just last year! So today is my birthday, and this is a terrible present!” “We have lost a legend!” Another follower remarked: “My favorite Stone, such a loss.” This user stated: “Amazing words from an amazing actor.”

“It is with great regret that we announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts,” his publicist Bernard Doherty added. “He died peacefully in a London hospital earlier today surrounded by his family,” according to Doherty. Charlie was also one of the greatest drummers of his generation as a member of The Rolling Stones.”

He stated, “We kindly request that the privacy of his family, band members and close friends is respected at this difficult time.”

Charlie’s bandmates, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, and Keith Richards, all paid tribute to the star shortly after the announcement.

Other celebrities, such as The Beatles’ Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, have paid tribute. Sir Paul called Watts “a lovely guy” and “an amazing drummer” who was “steady as a rock,” while Sir Ringo dubbed him a “great solid bloke.”

“A very sad day. Charlie Watts was the ultimate drummer,” writes Sir Elton John on Twitter. “The most dapper of men, and such good company.””

On March 1, the band revealed that MacLean had died at the age of 80. He had to cancel the band’s US tour because of his illness, which saddened his followers. Fans still accepted it since it was in Charlie’s best interests during that time.
