It might be a struggle to maintain one’s patience while having young children. However, as a parent, you must learn to cope with their tantrums. Allow them to be kids while they are still young and relish the experience while it lasts. You will miss these times when they become adults, and you will wish that they were little children again.

Cynthia’s children are driving her up the wall!

Her two little children, Juliet Rodriguez, and her younger brother, Cavanaugh Rodriguez, were just too much to manage. This is when she came up with the brilliant idea of teaching them a lesson. She confined them in a car on a scorching day. Sadly, Juliet and Cavanaugh perished as a result of being trapped inside the vehicle.

Cynthia did not kill her two children on purpose. According to her, she shut them away to teach her young kids a lesson by allowing them to die inside a hot automobile while she stayed at home and cooled off with the television on. She dozed off while watching TV and neglected to check on her children.

On May 26, Juliet and Cavanaugh both died. Cynthia never told the police what had happened, instead saying that the children had gone missing and managed to lock themselves in the car. However, this story is doubtful considering Juliet was only 2 years old at the time and Cavanaugh was 16 months old.

After questioning the mother further, the investigators learned that she had been lying. She stated that she caught her children playing in her 2010 Honda Crosstour and became angry with them. They then allegedly threw tantrums when asked to get out of the car, so she decided to teach them a lesson.

Believing they could escape, she locked the car door. She let them suffer in the hot car on a warm afternoon.

Cynthia figured that her two-year-old would be able to open the door and get her and her 16-month-old brother out. She went inside and smoked marijuana while leaving them locked in the car. Cynthia was unaware that her children were unable to exit the vehicle on their own. She passed out, had a lengthy sleep, then woke up.

When the marijuana high wore off, she realized her kids were gone. She went to look for them in the car and found Juliet and Cavanaugh dead inside.

According to the arrest affidavit, Cynthia fell asleep for two to three hours. When she found her kids, they were deceased. After the kids were examined, they learned that Juliet and Cavanaugh died of heatstroke after their mom locked them in the vehicle to teach them a lesson. During that day, the temperatures reached 96 degrees but inside the sealed car, it was well over 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

She staged the scene to look like an accident and called 911 after she saw what happened to her kids. Even though later admitted it was a lie, she stuck with the story.

Cynthia has been found guilty of two counts of reckless injury to a child and has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. She is expected to serve her time with other prisoners behind bars and will be considered a first-degree felony.
