In one of the most satisfying moments on Fox News’ The Five this week, Greg Gutfeld delivered a masterclass in dismantling leftist nonsense as he completely dismantled co-host Jessica Tarlov after she launched into yet another tired attack on President Donald Trump.

Tarlov, the panel’s reliable Democrat defender, claimed Trump “made $3 billion last year” and suggested he was getting rich off the presidency, drawing a false comparison to Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s questionable stock trading success. That’s when Gutfeld stepped in and absolutely torched the narrative.

“I know this is going to blow your mind,” Gutfeld fired back. “He was a billionaire and a businessman before he was president — unlike Obama! A Democrat gets into power and then gets rich. Trump was rich before he got there and he’s actually making less money!”

Tarlov doubled down, accusing Trump of “selling us out to people for the highest bidder” and claiming there’s a “for sale sign on the White House.” But Gutfeld wasn’t having it. He repeatedly brought the conversation back to the real issue plaguing America: massive government fraud, particularly in entitlement programs.

Gutfeld pointed out the staggering numbers — including reports of $3 trillion in improper payments since 2003 — and highlighted specific scandals like the Minnesota Somali migrant fraud cases, California hospice scams, and ghost company fraud in Ohio. He made it crystal clear: when Republicans try to clean up waste and fraud, Democrats cry “cruelty” because they’re protecting their own political interests.

“You mentioned Minnesota, the California hospice scam… the ghost company fraud in Ohio,” Gutfeld said. “The GAO reports $3 trillion in improper payments… because of weak controls over entitlement programs.”

He went further, explaining that the left’s hysterical reaction to basic oversight proves they’re more interested in guarding their grift than helping actual people. “Now you know why they circle their wagons whenever you approach… They call you a fascist. You’re trying to starve people… No, they’re protecting their profit,” Gutfeld stated.

The exchange perfectly illustrates the fundamental difference between conservatives and modern Democrats. Republicans, led by President Trump and supported by figures like DOGE, are focused on rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse that’s been draining American taxpayers for decades. Democrats, meanwhile, would rather smear Trump and cry about “mean questions” than admit their policies have enabled billions in fraudulent spending — often benefiting certain migrant communities and special interests.

Tarlov’s desperate attempt to equate Trump’s pre-existing wealth with Pelosi-style insider trading fell flat because the facts don’t lie. Trump walked into office as a successful businessman. Many Democrats seem to walk out as millionaires.

Gutfeld’s closing message was spot on: Republicans must stay aggressive on fraud. The American people voted for results, not excuses. Turning over rocks and exposing the rot is exactly what voters demanded — and the left’s meltdown shows just how necessary that work really is.

This segment wasn’t just good television. It was a much-needed reminder that common sense still has a voice — and it’s not afraid to call out the grift.
