In a candid conversation with Fox News host Lara Trump, Vice President JD Vance made it clear that his priority is serving the American people, not chasing political headlines or future campaigns. The Ohio Republican emphasized that his current role in the administration demands full attention, and any potential run for higher office, whether nationally or within the GOP, would require hard work—not entitlement.

Vance’s comments come at a time when Americans are increasingly frustrated with politicians who spend more time plotting their next move than doing their current job. Reflecting this sentiment, Vance told Lara Trump, “I just think that I don’t like thinking about it, because I like thinking about the job that I have right now.”

He continued, “If we do a good job in 2025 and 2026, then we can talk about the politics in 2027. But I really think the American people are so fed up with folks who are already running for the next job seven months into the current one. There are a lot of great people.”

Vance stressed that any future ambitions will be earned, not handed down. “I think if I do end up running, it’s not going to be given to me, either on the Republican side or on the national side, so I’m just going to keep on working hard,” he said. His focus, he added, is squarely on delivering results for Americans.

Highlighting the seriousness with which he approaches the vice presidency, Vance noted, “I think this is the most important job that I’ve ever had. It may be the most important job I’ve ever had, outside of being a father to those three beautiful kids. So I’m gonna, I’m gonna try to do my best job. And I think if I do that, the politics will figure itself out.”

Vance also addressed speculation about the 2028 race. Following Elon Musk’s decision to shelve his third-party ambitions and throw support behind Vance, the vice president remained humble but focused. “I see myself as the vice president trying to do a good job for the American people,” he explained. “If I do a good job, and if the president continues to be successful as I know that he will be, the politics will take care of itself.”

The vice president made it clear that the American people should come first in the minds of their leaders. “We can cross that bridge when we come to it,” Vance said. “But we just had an election seven months ago, and I’m probably like most Americans, and I’m sick of talking about politics after a big general election.”

Praising President Trump’s focus and leadership, Vance concluded, “I think the president is just focused on doing a good job for the American people. He wants me to be focused on doing a good job for the American people. That’s what I’ll keep on doing.”

In an era when Washington elites often prioritize ambition over achievement, JD Vance’s commitment to duty, results, and service to the American people stands out as a refreshing and reassuring approach. With eyes on 2028, Vance’s message is clear: work comes first, politics comes second.
