While Vice President JD Vance spent a quiet weekend enjoying family time at Disneyland, California Governor Gavin Newsom was busy picking online fights—because apparently that’s what Democrats do best when they’re not botching immigration policy or dealing with the fallout from their own failing state.
Vance, accompanied by his wife Usha and their two children, took a break from the political fray to enjoy the California amusement park. But in today’s climate, even a harmless family vacation becomes political cannon fodder if you’re a conservative—especially if you’re associated with President Trump.

As images and videos of the Vance family’s Disneyland visit spread online Saturday, Governor Newsom—clearly with nothing better to do despite lawsuits piling up and a messy immigration raid unfolding under his watch—decided to take a shot at the Vice President on X (formerly Twitter).
“Hope you enjoy your family time, @JDVance. The families you’re tearing apart certainly won’t,” Newsom posted with all the smugness of a man who thinks virtue signaling is a substitute for leadership.
Vance, never one to take the bait, responded calmly and directly: “Had a great time, thanks.”

That response likely stung more than any political zinger. While Newsom fumes online and flirts with a 2028 presidential run, Vance stays cool, focused, and grounded in real American values—like family and service.
Naturally, the professional protest machine was out in full force. Around 150 demonstrators gathered outside Disneyland’s gates, hurling their predictable chants at the Vice President. Others protested nearby in Anaheim—ironically the same city grappling with the consequences of California’s reckless sanctuary policies and a recent raid that uncovered over 200 illegal immigrants working at a marijuana farm.
Protesters even attempted to disrupt the Vance family’s hotel stay. Because nothing says “peaceful activism” like stalking a family vacation.

Meanwhile, Usha Vance used the California visit to further her literacy campaign, stopping by Camp Pendleton to read to the children of U.S. military families. But don’t expect that part of the trip to get any attention from the mainstream media—it doesn’t fit the anti-Trump narrative.
The real irony? Newsom, who presides over a state drowning in homelessness, crime, and sky-high taxes, has the audacity to criticize a Vice President for spending time with his children while enforcing federal immigration law. If Newsom spent half as much time fixing California as he does firing off cheap tweets, maybe the Golden State wouldn’t be bleeding residents to states like Texas and Florida.

Let’s be clear: the immigration raids that have the left clutching their pearls are happening because the Biden-Newsom approach of turning a blind eye has failed. The Trump administration’s intervention—led in part by VP Vance—has restored law and order in places where Democrat leadership has all but surrendered.
While the left stages protests and throws social media tantrums, JD Vance is doing what strong leaders do: enforcing the law, supporting families, and ignoring the noise.
And that, apparently, is enough to drive Democrats like Gavin Newsom absolutely mad.
