A young man by the name of Christopher and a young woman by the name of Ashley are set to be married as soon as they graduate from college. The two have been best friends for quite some time, and they feel truly blessed by God to also be in love with each other. They can’t wait to get married!
However, Christopher and Ashley were recently at the wedding of a friend of Ashley’s and things went sour. Ashley ended up catching the bouquet when her married friend threw it over her head, so Christopher and Ashley decided to take a funny picture where Christopher was looking at Ashley lovingly with the bouquet in her hands while Ashley’s Dad looked at Christopher with a snarl on his face.
The two posted the picture on social media thinking that it was funny, but they were absolutely shocked at the cruel responses that they received when the picture went viral on Reddit.
Because Christopher is slightly overweight, the commenters on the picture said things like “Is her boyfriend somewhere behind the fat…gentleman?”, as well as other things which were simply egregious. Still, Ashley and Christopher received the comments with dignity, and Ashley’s social media response made to all of the cruel posters was truly magical. In it, she said “…let me just tell you, I won the jackpot with Christopher.
He may not have rock hard abs like the world tells girls to want in a guy, but really, why does that even matter when you are trying to really find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with?” She also went on to say how she always wanted a Godly mate and that she had found that possibility in Christopher! What a truly marvelous response to a world full of cruelty!
