A shocking new video circulating on social media is laying bare just how far anti-ICE hysteria has spiraled out of control in Minneapolis, as radical protesters increasingly turn their rage directly on federal law enforcement officers. The footage shows a man brazenly spitting on an ICE agent during a protest—only to be immediately arrested—offering a stark reminder of where reckless rhetoric from Democratic leaders is leading.

In the clip, the man, wearing a red-and-blue winter hat, a gray T-shirt layered over an orange long-sleeve shirt, strolls past a group of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. Seconds later, he explodes with venom, shouting, “You disgust me!” A woman nearby can be heard confirming what happened next: the man spat directly on an ICE agent.

Officers wasted no time. The man was swiftly taken into custody as other protesters appeared to defend his disgusting behavior, a reaction that stunned many Americans watching online. In most jurisdictions, spitting on someone is considered assault—especially when the target is a law enforcement officer carrying out official duties.

The incident is the latest example of escalating hostility toward ICE, which has surged since President Donald Trump resumed aggressive, boots-on-the-ground enforcement of immigration law—specifically targeting criminal illegal aliens for deportation. That hostility has boiled over in recent days following the fatal shooting of a woman in Minneapolis who, according to Homeland Security officials, attempted to run down an ICE agent with her vehicle.

Federal authorities were clear: the woman “weaponized her vehicle,” forcing the officer to make a split-second, life-or-death decision. “An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots,” Homeland Security said in a statement. “He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.”

Despite those facts, Democratic leaders rushed to inflame tensions.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey responded to the incident by unleashing a profanity-laced tirade, telling ICE, “We do not want you here,” and bluntly ordering agents to “get the f**k out of Minneapolis.” Frey absurdly blamed ICE—not violent protesters—for the chaos consuming the city.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz added fuel to the fire, referring to protests against immigration enforcement as a “patriotic duty,” a statement many conservatives say borders on encouraging mob action against federal officers.

Law enforcement groups are sounding the alarm.

The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association issued a statement condemning what it called “reckless rhetoric” from elected officials, warning that such language has “real and dangerous consequences for officers on the street.” That warning proved prophetic almost immediately.

Following the shooting, protesters descended on the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building, forcing agents to deploy pepper spray, pepper balls, and other crowd-control measures as demonstrators clashed with law enforcement in the early hours of January 9, 2026.

For conservatives, the pattern is unmistakable. Demonize law enforcement. Excuse violent behavior. Then act shocked when protesters feel emboldened to spit on, assault, or attack officers doing their jobs.

The man in the viral video may have been arrested before causing further harm—but many fear it’s only a matter of time before words turn into something far worse. As long as political leaders continue to vilify ICE and legitimize lawless behavior, the risk of further bloodshed remains dangerously high.
