The corruption surrounding Rep. Ilhan Omar’s political orbit has reached another disgraceful milestone. Guhaad Hashi Said, a former campaign “enforcer” for Omar, has pleaded guilty to wire fraud and money laundering after stealing nearly \$3 million from a taxpayer-funded program meant to feed hungry children.

From 2020 to 2022, Said used his nonprofit, Advance Youth Athletic Development, as a front to funnel taxpayer dollars into his own pockets. By filing fraudulent meal claims under the Federal Child Nutrition Program — also known as Feeding Our Future — Said bled millions from a system designed to help the most vulnerable. Instead of feeding children, he fed his own greed.

Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson made it clear this wasn’t a one-off crime. Announcing Said’s conviction, Thompson revealed just how deep the rot goes in Minnesota. “The conviction of the 52nd defendant in the Feeding Our Future case is yet another reminder of the vast reach of this fraud and the scale of the crisis we face in Minnesota,” he said.

Thompson went on to describe the scam as part of a sophisticated web of corruption. “These crimes are not isolated events,” he explained. “They are part of a web of schemes targeting programs that are intended to lift up Minnesotans and bleeding them dry.” He warned that “every rock we turn over reveals more,” a damning indictment of the fraud epidemic spreading through the state.

The FBI backed up those warnings. Alvin M. Winston Sr., Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Minneapolis Division, explained exactly how Said and his cronies enriched themselves. “Said stole money, falsified paperwork submitted to the government, and was reimbursed millions of dollars to which he was not entitled,” Winston said. The veteran agent promised that the bureau will continue rooting out the criminals behind the scandal: “We will ensure that every defendant in this investigation is held fully accountable for their conduct.”

While Democrats like Omar continue to play the victim card in Washington, Americans are taking notice of the company she keeps. Conservatives immediately flooded social media demanding her resignation, calling her complicit in the culture of corruption that surrounds her. “Ilhan should be removed from Congress. She is as unAmerican as they come,” one user wrote. Another added, “That’s the only reason these people are in politics — to grift. Every penny of their wealth should be seized and they should be sent home.”

Others pointed to the bigger picture: a Democratic machine that protects its own while taxpayers foot the bill. One frustrated American wrote, “They lie, cheat, and steal with impunity, and yet we keep electing them. How did we let things get this crazy?”

The Minnesota fraud scandal is one of the largest in U.S. history, and now Omar’s inner circle is at the heart of it. While children go hungry and taxpayers grow weary, Democrats like Omar remain silent. But Americans aren’t fooled — they see exactly what’s going on.
